Again, there is a difference between murder and death. You reject God because you can't understand His ways. Is that His problem or yours?

Do your sons do the same to you?

I do not reject God. I may be one of the few who have an in depth understanding of Him.

People who read the Bible literally, the wrong way, will see a God who kills and breaks His own Law.
Our true God does not.
Those who read the Bible literally will not likely ever find God. They are too busy looking for talking snakes.

@rugonnacry,
If you read the Bible as a metaphor rather than a historical account where people happen to learn moral lessons, it comes out all wrong too. Sorry, but I don't see why you having a superiority complex proves that the Bible is not a historical account as well as containing metaphors.

The Bible contains all of the above.

If the Bible is to be the tree of knowledge, then both good and evil must be represented. It is.
It is to us then to dither out which is which.

It leads to God but also to the Antichrist. It may very well be the Antichrist.
It did divide the larger Christian house did it not.

Right, God's creation speaks of His glory.

In all actuality, without the whole "God" thing behind it, the bible is really nothing more than a different version of Aesop's fables, or a typical 30min sit-com where someone screws up, and at the end of the 1/2 hour, a lesson is learned.

The problem (depending on your point of view) is, God is "behind" the Bible. Therefore it isn't equivalent to any of your examples.

I follow the same God Jesus did.
Let me ask you, other than the Bible, were do most people go for their moral and ethical views? Nowhere. The Bible is the book most turn to.
If we are to find the moral answers there, are we not also finding the immoral answers at the same time. Good and evil right? What did God in the beginning give us to learn of good and evil? The tree right?
If not the Bible, where is this tree? Are we not using the Bible as the tree.

If the Bible is not to be taken literally, why then did Jesus Christ fulfill the Old Testament prophecies literally?

@rugonnacry,
If a man came to you and said he was sent by God to save men from sin, would you simply believe him? It probably was convenient.

Our Saviour came already. Surely I will not believe him...... We are just waiting for His return....

Did He?
Many others are arguing that point as we speak.

Why would you want to read the Bible literally, talking snakes angels and demons do not belong to our reality do they?

The longer He waits the more souls He will have to send to Hell.
Does He need to fill a roster and needs more players. You would think that He would have gotten enough in the flood.

You can't follow God the Father and make the types of blasphemous comments you've made. You are either attempting to fool us or fooling yourself.

While the Bible may be made of pulp from a tree, it is not the tree. The tree is not needed to discover evil. Evil lives in the hearts of men because men are fallen. Man and woman chose evil when they disobeyed God. God did not make them evil or incorporate evil in them.

You've never met a talking snake? I have, it also had two feet.

Ever hear of Mr. Ed?

If more than one person tells you you are taking something out of context, could it be you are taking something out of context? Could Johari's window be operating?

Yeah its me taking things out of context, when the only way you can provide any fight for your bible, is by quoting a passage and then explaing it to YOUR context.
