@rugonnacry,
So what? They're just religious stories about fallible people, written by fallible people. They're still important to us Christians, and deserve a good read. If you don't like the Bible, put that dang old thang down.

I like the Bible.
This was more to see how quick we could get Volunteer into a frenzy
@rugonnacry,
You've been trying to do that pretty damned hard today.
@rugonnacry,
Eh. Its just how today has been.
I have not had a day off work in two months, and Now that I have one, I am bored stiff.

Actually I am the VP of Operations for an Independent Oil And Gas.
@rugonnacry,
The problem with us is we criticize without even reading and understanding the whole book.
@rugonnacry,
I have read the book, the problem with us is not the whether we understand it or not, the problem is we all understand it differently.
Some understand it as gods writings a divine book, not INSPIRED but actually SANCTIONED by god himself.
To the other side of the spectrum (me) a guide for those who need to feel that they are not alone, and to answer the three questions we will never have answers to had we not written the book. (otherwise the continued mass hysteria would have eventually consumed the world) Where are we from, Why are we here, Where are we going.

Tain't a 'book'. It's a library. The dang old thang took a very long time to piece together, and it was the Catholic Church that did so.
Enjoy. By viewing it as a book, you distort and misinterpret it. That in turn leads you to worship it instead of worshiping God. The Bible is not God. God transcends the Bible.:beat:
@rugonnacry,
Other people didn't understand God's transition from old to new testament. God gave different rules to people using different messenger, for example, Elija for the Israelites, Micah for Judah, Malachi for Jerusalem and specially Christ for the whole Gentiles. Logically speaking, God is in transition as man is also in transition, the difference is God is a step away further than man's. It is wise what he did giving different rules to different set of people or civilization. Because every past civilization is different from another. That is why people read some contradicting stories in the bible.

That I cannot dispute, but the question at hand still remains, what are God's rules for us NOW?

Ask the bible. We are under the category of gentiles, right? Who is the messenger of God that is addressing the gentiles? If you know who then you know who you will follow.
