Clary & Piffka

Hello to you on this perfect Melbourne summer day! Very Happy

Nope, I'm stuck for the next book! Sad I may have to visit my trusty pre-loved bookshop & see what inspires me. Funny how the books you bought ages ago & MEANT to read no longer interest you, isn't it! Confused Contrary!

So I've indulged in my other love - film. I've raided my video store & come away with a mixed bag to curl up on the couch & watch. Took a big breath & decided I could finally (!) cope with The Silence Of The Lambs, after years of avoiding it. (Had some idea that it would change me permanently in some shocking, bent way! Shocked ) Well I survived! And I must be the only person in the world that didn't find it engrossing. Confused

I really like the idea of both of you rushing around being energetic & creative! A mural, Piffka! Where & what's the theme? Do tell!

MsOlga -- I felt the same way about Silence of the Lambs and still haven't seen it with no plans to do so, ever. I've seen enough horror films to last me he rest of this life and all of the next.

My mural plan is to cover a pair of walls that meet in a corner of an addition to our house. The walls are quite tall, fifteen feet, I think, maybe more. The room is a playroom/party room. I want the mural to make the viewers think they are seeing through the house to what would be primeval woods beyond, but with lots of light. I'll use glazes to brighten it and some abstract but realistic tree shapes... maybe just trunks, for example. Since I've never EVER done this before, I'm a little tentative about starting. Very Happy I also need to find a taller ladder than the eight foot one I've got.

Good luck finding a book AND more films!

Believe me, Piffka, I'm not trying to suggest that it's not a good idea. Honest. Your home is your castle & painting the mural will make you enjoy it more.
Go for it! Very Happy

I know, MsOlga. Wink Don't worry, I didn't think you were trying to suggest anything. I just meant that it is, in the end, not a very big thing... just ideas and paint. Very temporal!

Piffka: I'm looking forward to hearing how your mural has gone.

Msolga: I know; she probably should have cut out the last one-hundred-and-seventy pages or so; we don't need to know about Leah's time in the nunnery or much of the last two books. Yet, every book will have an imperfection. I think If on a winter's night a traveller by Calvino, Les Liaisons Dangeureuses by Laclos and Lolita by Nabovok are great-- the only problem is, you have the wonderful weather in the way! I'm trying to search down a book with twenty chapters and fifty 'forewords' by an Argentine writer.

Ah, so many good suggestions! I will have to take a list to my used bookshop! Some of them would have to be there!

Yes, re Poisonwood, as much of thoughts about the time in the Congo were essential & necessary, they just went on & on & on .... With nothing much new to offer, just confirming what we already knew about the women in this family. But I would have loved to have had some more from the mother about the time in Africa, thoughts about her marriage, etc.

Weather it's going to be 37 C today!!!!!!!! Shocked Shocked And guess who'll be oiling the outside decking? Me! Very Happy Very Happy But under shade, of course!

Thanks for the thought Clary. Very Happy
But lazy? It aint gonna be lazy! I'm busy procrastinating here before I throw myself into oiling that decking. It looks seriously dry! Shocked

Hope you're all decked out in warm pyjamas & hugely bulky socks in your chilly night! Very Happy

ohhhhh, I like today's horoscope!:

Pisces

Talk about a big change in the face of the wheel. Even though the exact transit has been applying for a week or so, it is only today that the Mars-Pluto connection is at its fullest potential. This is indicates a powerful shift in ambitions and to be true, this is the day when you should without fail, make long-term plans and set ambitions and objectives for yourself. This is not a light-weight influence and what you decide upon will be in effect for some time. This power brings a strong will to use and the ability and wherewithal to advance through making sound decisions and using constructive actions to get where you really want to go. This is a turning point on the wheel and will be for many - though many not realise it just yet. Even on a base level this energy can support the tenacity and drive to get things accomplished. Overall a powerful, positive and forward moving day that you should take every advantage of. And just as importantly love is restored as a viable energy into the chart and should flow easily and beautifully once more for you. So it's also a great day for romance too - can't get better than that.

Hey, this is good, too! Very Happy

Sagittarius

Well, if you don't make this day happen for you, Clary & Piffka - you have only yourself to blame. Because where there have been issues, upsets and stuck-ness, today the world is turned on its ear and you're given the god-given power to change almost anything you wish to (provided of course it is to the highest good of course). But even then free will is an amazing thing and cannot be controlled. But the fantastic energy from the Mars-Pluto combination creates a foundation for great change, for the completion of plans and confers the ability to lay the cornerstones of your lifes plan and long-term goals. This is not a day to sit around thinking it will just happen, you have to be proactive, you have to make plans and you have to take constructive action and use your will power to make things so. Your personal influence and power will impact in a very large way on those around you today. The favourable lunar influences all support this major transit and also thankfully, bring love back into the picture. Affection and love is found in the heart of the matter.

Olga I can't believe that your energetic 'scope and my 'scope received just now are for the same day!
There is a time for work and a time for play, Clare. Today is a time for work. Regardless of where you are and what you are doing, there is work to be done. Adopt a critical eye to keep on the lookout for things that need improvement. Today is a perfect day to assess these things and take necessary action for their repair. Leave no stone unturned as you go through your day today.

I'm afraid I believe MINE! But fate has a way of playing a wild card so we'll see if the monotony of primary grammar can be enlivened by 'my personal influence and power' (pretty negligible I should think!)
