@oralloy,
For just one example of how americans disagree with your OPINION of civil liberties violations, 69% support banning assault style weapons, 57% strongly support it. They've been ksampling American support for gun control for years, with a number of surveys on various aspects of it, and your kconcept of alleged civil liberties violations gets short shMost Americans disagree with your position on alleged civil liberties violations,
uusually by around 2 to 1. You can find all the polls and all the topics at pollingreport.com

@MontereyJack,
"That unjustified restrictions on our civil liberties is a violation of those civil liberties" is a fact, not an opinion.

The fact that some people enjoy violating other people's civil liberties does not make it any less of a crime for them to do so.

You're the one with the fixation on pistol grips. You always have been,

Your attempts to deny reality are futile. Here are two posts where you called for and praised efforts to ban pistol grips on semi-auto long guns:

since back in the day when you thought it was all about banning harmless cosmetic features, which didn't fly because no one except you thought it was about banning harmless cosmetic features in any way.

Progressive attempts to ban harmless cosmetic features are all about banning harmless cosmetic features.

Progressives are used to believing what they are told to believe even when the reality in front of them is different, so they don't understand that this does not work on normal people.

Your argument keeps shifting ground but never has made any sense or had any connection to reality.

You cannot provide any examples of a contradiction between my arguments and reality.

My arguments make perfect sense. You just don't like it when I point out the fact that progressives are criminals.

@oralloy,
Gun control is about restricting the availability and use of guns. Assault weapons were banned before, they will be banned again.

@InfraBlue,
The NRA will not allow you to violate our civil liberties again.

But if you first pay massive compensation for your past violations of our civil liberties, you might then be given permission to enact some new gun laws that don't violate anyone's rights.

@oralloy,
The NRA couldn't prevent it before, it will not prevent it again.

@InfraBlue,
That is incorrect. The NRA will prevent it from ever happening again.

Note the 2013 gun control debacle where Obama tried to do it and the NRA stopped him cold and wrecked his presidency.

Or note the whiny brats sobbing in the balcony as the NRA stopped them from doing it in Florida.

Or note just a month or two ago where the NRA stopped it from happening in Virginia.

Or note the fact that it can't even get voted out of committee in the Democratically-controlled House of Representatives while other gun laws are easily passed by the House.

@InfraBlue,
The NRA will not allow progressives to violate people's civil liberties again.

Whatever political capital the Democrats expend trying to violate people's civil liberties will simply be wasted energy that the Democrats will not be able to use to achieve anything.

But if the Democrats choose to waste their energy not achieving anything, the NRA will certainly be able to help them do that.
