Well of course not. Not right now, not at this moment but I don't see where that makes a great deal of difference. A very strong friendship is what we have. I only loved one person in my life and that was my wife. Long time ago. Love is a very big word in my book. I didn't even love my parents or children. No sir. You must enjoy someone way, way, way beyond simply being fond of them to love them.

Most people don't love they just think they do, say they do.

The first thought is very sad, I can't agree with the second one. I think most people do love, albeit perhaps not as much as they say the do.

Well. All you need do is look to see people that are together, married or not, that do not appear to demonstrate much kindness, consideration towards each other let alone love.

You know, just telling someone they are loved now and then doesn't count for much. I can tell where the love ends and the resignation begins. Usually by 50. Cool

Jack Webbs...
I do hope you're joking!!!!!!!!!

Such a smug character. Why the hell would Susan have any interest in taking up with an old codger, so set in his ways, who fancies his dog more than her! Poof to security!

Well you just don't understand the way it is. A few minutes ago I was watching John Roberts interviewing all these poor people in New Orleans, destitute, poverty stricken, miserable people but you know what? I saw a few wedding bands.

Here I am, high and dry, unpoor and with no wife!

Believe you me I can get pretty darn ugly at times like this. Something is really wrong here! If those people can do it, no reason on Earth why I cannot have a nice wife again too! At the same time I cannot rush things because I must make certain I am making the best move.

Is the picture clearer now margo, littlek? My dog cannot figure it out either. I don't think! Confused

Personally I don't think marriage is all that important. Apparently you feel the need for it - to have someone to call your wife. If "Susan" feels the same way you do ... she wants companionship in her older years and needs that title and a ring, then you're in luck.

This is what I am pretty much angling for. I am very fond of her and I know she? Well I can feel she thinks more of me than simply an acquaintance. She does things out of the clear blue sky like calling me and inviting me out; even driving me home after the evening when I am perfectly capable of taking the train. She has invited me to lunch at the faculty/staff mess.

I am about to leave town for a few days, she wishes to see me off and greet me when I return. Those things mean an awful lot to me but I take care not to read too much into them. You know what I mean Heeven?

I have had lots of fun being unmarried but I don't feel like a complete man being not married. Indeed, something is very haywire with men my age that are not married. All my friends are married. I need to be married as well. That's just the way I see it. Cool

She is down there more than likely reading and here I sit fooling around with strangers on the computer. I should be down there but even though she has done unexpected things that are very nice? What if I called her and she acted like I was bothering her?

Almost a month ago she called my best friend and his wife because she could not reach me on the phone (I have intermittent problems with my legs as a result of the old days) and here I was out buying curtains. My friend tried to call. Answering machine worked but he and his wife also panicked and drove 15 miles over here expecting to find me in some awful situation. And here I was already home enjoying a beer.

i'll call her tomorrow morning. Late tomorrow morning and see if she would like to go for a drive with the top down. The fall weather is beautiful. Won't be long before I will be forced to put the hard top on the roadster.

Sunday is out. She is a Unitarian, semi-religious I think they are, don't know much about Unitarians at all. She teaches Sunday school so Sunday is shot.

Monday is a Holiday. Maybe that would be good.

She has a cute, tiny hooked nose. So kissable. Smile

Call her today. Ask her about Sunday afternoon or Monday.

If ya called me tomorrow about tomorrow ... you'd wonder why you were sitting in a puddle of p** before I hung up.
