Yeah. I've got three of the wretched beasts, and they don't keep the floor half so clean.

HAHAHAHA! Dasha cleaned the floors. You'll have to ask her for her secret.

secret? I use only the teensiest tiniest dollop of Murphys's oil soap (otherwise it leaves smudges), I rinse the mop before each time I dip it in the soapy bucket, so that the water doesn't get dirty. But the secret is a large towel...I stand on it at the end and kinda shuffle across the rooms...looks idiotic, but it leave the floors smudgeless and shiny. Quite a bit of effort though.

You haven't posted anything for a while on Screech. How is he doing?

Actually, TTH, he just had a low glucose episode this morning, but he's ok now. Means he won't get insulin today, so he'll be on a sugar high this am and a sugar crash tonight before he next shot.

I was just thinking of both of you and how things were going. I saw the video and he is a gorgeous cat.

Phew.... coming out of a sick-cat episode. Every now and then he gets sick. I don't think it's a diabetes thing - at least not a blood balance thing. He exhibits finicky eating, gets loose (stinky!) stools, acts cranky. He tossed up a couple of small hairballs, but that didn't immediately help. Usually lasts for a few days. I reduce his insulin by half and give him anything he will eat - sometimes I have four bowls of different food out for him (wet, dry, tuna, kitten food, eggs). If I have to, I add a little sugar to his food - usually the sick comes on AFTER a full dose of insulin - I have to scramble to keep his sugars up. Only happens 2-3 times a year.

You take such good care of your kitty, 'k! It's really heartwarming, & nice to know that people like you are out there. *schniff*

I totally agree, cyphercat. I've been constantly amazed at the amount of commitment & sheer hard work involved in keeping k's beautiful cat healthy & happy. A credit to you, k! He's certainly a fortunate cat, that Screech! Very Happy

Except he's still sick. It's been like a week. 2 nights ago we were up until 4am because his glucose was too low. Because he hasn't been eating well, I had been giving him less insulin. That day he'd finally eaten a full serving of dry kibble, so I gave him a full dose. He plunged, his face started twitching. I got out the Karo syrup and read a book until I was satisfied he was ok. When those events happen, we skip the next dose. He doesn't much like that either - the sugar high, the cranky crash and the thirst. But, I could shoot him next much earlier in the day and keep an eye on him until a normal bedtime hour.
