I am in Berlin! (At last) I got here on Sunday morning, but my laptop's internet connection predictably failed, so I couldn't tell you all. In the end, Victoria took me as far as Köln, but when I tried to get a ticket, they told me that I needed a reservation, and so I had to wait until the day after (Sunday) to travel. This turned out OK; my friend did not mind, and I had the chance to explore Köln. I didn't really do much; I walked around, absorbing the ancient-seeming atmosphere and the varied architecture. I saw a lot of churches for some reason, even though ; as well as the obvious visit to the Kölner Dorn (the most famous cathedral, with the dreaming Gothic spires seen around the city), I went to a smaller medieval church, St. Gereon, which has a wonderful altar, ancient looking painted glass windows, and a very strange, beautiful Decagon-shaped dome. I remember someone told me to go on the Rhein cable cars, but they were closed.

Berlin has been a dream so far; I have been exploring from around eight in the morning until the night-time on my own (with vigilance, of course) I will be here until the 30th December, so I will have plenty of time to look around. I don't have a set itinerary at all; I find it much more pleasing to go to random places and see what I find for myself. I have been going around on the U-Bahn and getting off wherever my fancy takes me; although this has obviously led to some duff stops in Industrial suburbs, it often works out well; yesterday I went to Kreuzberg and spent a lot of time there, and I think that I will go back again before I go off to Munich; even though it was a Sunday, it was very much alive. It had lots of backstreet bookshops- most of which were closed, unfortunately- Turkish café places, art around each corner, and beautiful- unexpected- parks. Today, I'm off to the place that they call the 'Kulturforum,' to investigate the many galleries... and to wherever I end up! Well, I had better go now... I'll be back soon.

I have a good feeling about 2004 Very Happy

Good to hear the update from our travelling friend! I remember the sense of vertigo when standing under the Koln cathedral and looking up at its spire with clouds scudding away from me - nearly fell over!

Must go to Berlin sometime.

Hmm, I think I must go to Berlin, too. And how can I become an Olive??? I liked the Fig okay until I saw the Olive! LOL

Drom -- Thanks loads for sharing. I hope you find some fantastic things on your travels. You deserve it after that rocky start. Smooth sailing ahead.

Pfk, did you get this today?
A powerful desire to radically change your life might fill you today, Clare, and you might find yourself considering some rather outrageous courses of action, such as selling everything and hitchhiking across Australia. Whatever you're daydreaming about might indeed be just the thing for you right now, but don't make any final decisions yet. Wait a couple of days and see if you still feel the same way. Then, if you do, look into it!

Because I have been feeling like this, have you? Sounds as if D-et-R is the one doing it though!

Darn! Australia, really? I have been having vague feelings of dissastisfaction, but that's typical of me after Christmas. Haven't been thinking about much travel except going to Mexico and wishing I were going to England this spring, to see some gardens.

This is the Astrocenter advice I got for December 30th, it's not bad, but not nearly as exciting as yours:

You will find that this day is very agreeable to you, Piffka. There is a great dynamic energy in the air that is helping to fuel your fire with extra logs from the woodpile. Have a good time regardless of what your daily activities are. You will find that an adventurous, high-spirited approach will get you where you need to go in every situation. You have the power to make important transformations that will aid you in the future.

THANKYOU Olga for your welcoming words... but I think you too have a cat or even plural cats! Margo is right, I am not a cat lover (cat hater is too strong) because they give me asthma. However, it is the Astrocentre that thinks Oz is on my cards, but I was there for 2 months this year so the budget probably won't run to another such extravagance yet.

But the spirit is there! Am definitely on the lookout for travelling companions for a month in some nice place - somewhere cheaper than England which shouldn't be a bit difficult to find. Anyone interested?

I'm the A2K travel tart - I'm always interested in travel. Just a couple of problems at present,
a) time;
b) money; and
c) a sitter for Possum-cat!

But, apart from that, I'm freeeeee!!!!!!!!!

Where dya wanna go!!!!

And, Happy New Year, btw (just after 6am here!)

OK, so I can't arrange a sitter for your feline tyrant, but money - well, how much do you need? Living in Sydney isn't that cheap, you could live in Thailand or Sri Lanka for longer on less. Time - you spend time here on these forums, so what's the problem? Some daumb-ass job??? Throw it in. You only live once. Don't let the toad WORK squat on your life.

Smile just playing devil's advocate; it's how I tend to think.

Waaaaaaaah. I want to go!

Somebody sent me to soulcollage.com and this card came up... remember that 'scope about a car advertisement, where the infiniti makes its own road? Was that yours, Clary?

Oh yes, Piffka, it was mine, but that pic looks a little scary and nighttime and yeah, what is that training droid doing there?? I had in mind a sort of New Mexico landscape with a road unrolling as you travel.

Piff do you have Angel Cards? I like them - and did a multi-card reading for 2004. The card I got more than once was Courage so that's what I am concentrating on.

Clary, no I don't have Angel cards... I have Animal cards which I like a lot but rarely use. I also throw the I Ching, but not often.

This is where that "card" came from... a group email I rec'd from a friend who walked the beach with me & our dogs on the Winter Solstice. We absent-mindedly made an altar while setting down some beach rocks and realized we ought to be doing this together. She has her very own, full-sized labyrinth, in the same design as the one at Chartres. Fabulous to walk that at night when it is lit with candles.

I have been calling down the moon with my horse attending, (Pearl LOVES those ceremonies and is a faithful follower) but I think it might be fun to share with these women, goddesses all. Very Happy

Horoscopes

Pisces

A home improvement project could prove more expensive than you anticipated. Fortunately, you're simply loaded with creative solutions to your economic problems. Your artistic hands could come up with an inexpensive way to mimic techniques you've seen in some of the glossy magazines. Alternately, you could find a way to finance this project by selling some of your own handiwork. Don't let little obstacles get you down.
