Taking a more spiritual approach to work will help you rise through the ranks. The more at peace you are with yourself, the easier it will be to attract the opportunities you want. Instead of exhausting yourself by sending out resumes and applying for jobs, let the opportunities come to you. It sounds like a crazy plan, but in an economy like this, an unconventional approach often works best.

Oh, great suggestion! Hmmmmmmmmmmm ... Rolling Eyes
Ya got that, Mikey?

I haven't been looking at the Astrology email I get daily, but happened to read mine today... very odd. Anybody else get one like this? The stars must be transiting or something.

Quote:
Dear PIFFKA,
Good news is coming, so today you can expect your in box to be filled with emails, possibly from all over the world. An important world event could take place that marks a watershed for societal progress, and people everywhere could be excited and definitely will want to discuss it. You yourself are likely to be very moved emotionally, as your natural idealism often causes you to hope against hope for such events.

-- An Important World Event? Is there something I don't know about? Just wondering...

Hmmm, amazing what one gets up to when one is in full procrastination mode! Haven't looked at my horoscope for ages, nor this thread ... Anyway, instead of finding what I expected: "Don't leave the house today, it's too dangerous!", or "don't answer the phone today. You'll regret it!", I found this:

Pisces Horoscope for week of December 4, 2003

You might enjoy Pearl Cleage's novel Some Things I Never Thought I'd Do. It's got soulful characters, a strong social consciousness, and a dramatic mix of suffering and redemption. But you don't have to read the book to carry out the advice in this week's horoscope. All you have to do is write your own personal version of "Some Things I Never Thought I'd Do" -- a two-page stream-of-consciousness essay is fine -- and then go out and start actually doing the things you've described therein. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

It's funny how one Gemini reading one paper can have such a different fate from a Gemini reading another....

PRIVATE LIFE: ***
Family: Lend strong support to members the 2nd to 4th even if you don't agree with their goals/positions or spending. At least be seen as concerned or aware if not supportive.
Love: Romance can do well if you avoid snap judgements, allowing fears and insecurities to call the shots and contaminating situations.
Friendship: Friends are most helpful with brain storming financial problems near the 4th to 6th. Keep your cool and ask nicely for favors, ideas and 'putting you in touch' with assistance.

MONEY AND PROFESSIONAL MATTERS: ***
Career: Keep you motivation up the 1/2nd, your lip zipped on opinions and strategies the 3rd, your focus on decision making the 4th and your 'smooze time' on networking and profit building the 5th for a successful week.
Finances: About to improve BIG time.

GENERAL OVERVIEW (by Deborah Browning):
This week's scenario is highlighted by responsibilities and professional matters that may make you wonder whether you really want to continue on your current path. The information that you've been seeking for weeks may come to you now, but it still might not be entirely clear to you. Pay careful attention in conversations where facts are handled carelessly. The clues lie between the words. Use your intuition to determine the truth. A person in authority may ask you an incriminating question. Think carefully before responding, because the answer could be potentially damaging to you or to someone you admire. The best way to combat problems is to set your own agenda. Then you'll really know what responsibility is all about. Maybe you've over-committed yourself, and need to make some priorities. Such planning is not really the Gemini way. Whatever happened to the freedom of the past, when life was so simple and all you were concerned with was the next thrill? Well, there's still plenty of time for fun in your future. All you have to do is clear your calendar, drop a few projects, and then go out and play.

State of mind: Ready to Rock and ROLL!

'Buzz word/phrase' for the week: I'm a believer in ME! Laughing whatever.

Most compatible sign this week: Aquarius

Keeping busy makes you feel good, but try to steer clear of chores that have feelings of guilt attached. You may want to reassess why you are performing these duties at all. Yes, it's important to be kind to others, but there's a limit to how much you can do. Perhaps you can divide these responsibilities with somebody else, or hire an agency to relieve you of some of the work. Give yourself a break.

"hire an agency"? Yeah, yeah, sure! Rolling Eyes

Oboy, this thread has revived! You know how much I liked it!

This was my horoscope:
A desire to redecorate, remodel, or otherwise beautify your home might tempt you to spend a little too much today. This is fine, as long as you make sure you overspend on what you really want or need.

Oh... a day late, though maybe I'll just keep on painting!

You see, I always think that the powers that be got my sign wrong... I mean, I'm kind of lively and spontaneous and well... I am the perpetual student, but I'm very patient and don't get bored easily... and I'm not confused! Very Happy

I always find that the horoscope is a few days late from being appropriate...

You know, I've never considered my rising sign...

I'm going to check out what mine actually is

I've done it.. my rising sign is (drum roll) Sagittarius!

I think that that's much more accurate:

Sagittarius, the ninth Sign of the Zodiac, is the home of the wanderers of the Zodiac. It's not a mindless ramble for these folks, either. Sagittarians are truth-seekers, and the best way for them to do this is to hit the road, talk to others and get some answers. Knowledge is key to these folks, since it fuels their broad-minded approach to life. The Sagittarian-born are keenly interested in philosophy and religion, and they find that these disciplines aid their internal quest. At the end of the day, what Sagittarians want most is to know the meaning of life, and if they accomplish this while feeling free and easy, all the better.

It's the Archer which represents Sagittarians, although in this case it's a Centaur (half man, half beast) which is flinging the arrows. Centaurs were the intellectuals of ancient Roman mythology, and Sagittarians are quick to consider themselves their modern-day counterparts. Those born under this Sign are clear thinkers and choose to look at the big picture most of the time. They also like it when others agree with their well-thought-out point of view. The alternative to this, for better or for worse, is a Sag who can become argumentative and blunt. That's not to say that these folks are intransigent -- Archers will listen to what others have to say, in keeping with the Mutable Quality assigned to this Sign. Indeed, Sagittarians are enthusiastic consumers of information (and enthusiastic in general), the better to get the answers they need. It's also a good idea to give Sags lots of room to explore their world. Once these folks start to feel hemmed in, they'll become impatient and difficult.

I think that I'm a reasonable mix of the two, with good and bad traits from each. Have you ever had your rising sign calculated?

D et R -- I bought a book that has a lot of astrological tables so I've been looking these things up. My rising sign is Libra.

Oooh, Margo, wouldn't it be nice to hire a cleaning agency, just for a one-time clean-up? Hmmm, must think....
