baseball MVP & CY YOUNG: who do you like?

@Region Philbis,
I never really had Buchholtz on my radar, other than as a side thought. Perhaps because he was on (another) one of my fantasy teams, and did not help THAT much.
The problem with Buchholtz was that he didn't go too deep into the games. He had 17 "quality starts" (15 wins, 1 no decision, 1 loss), vis a vis 31 by Hernández, 24 by Price and 23 by Sabathia. Lester had 18.
You can notice now that good batting teams (Yanks and Red Sox) give wins to pitchers even if they last less than 6 innings and earn more than 3 runs.

@fbaezer,

buchholz usually worked a high-pitch count, and had a good enough bullpen behind him, that tito wouldn't let him finish games...

@fbaezer,

(thanx for reviving this fb -- i've been meaning to)...

AL MVP: Adrián González
NL MVP: Matt Kemp

AL CY: Justin Verlander
NL CY: Ian Kennedy

lots of deserving AL MVP candidates -- ellsbury, ortiz, cano, michael young, even closer valverde...
kemp's numbers are slightly better than braun's, although braun prolly wins...
verlander should be unanimous...
kennedy by a nose over kershaw...

and i agree 100% with the globe's bob ryan that starting pitchers should not be eligible for MVP...

@Region Philbis,
I think Adrián has a shot if the BoSox qualify for playoffs even with this horrible meltdown.

i keep hearing ellsbury has a legitimate shot at winning AL MVP.

@Region Philbis,
See ya next year on this thread Region.

3 out of 4, but I almost totally missed AL MVP, and that makes me angry. I consider myself a specialist.

AL MVP - josh hamilton (over mike trout)
AL CY - david price (over jered weaver)

NL MVP - ryan braun* (over andrew mccutchen)
NL CY - gio gonzalez (over cueto & kershaw)

*still suspicions about how clean he is, which could affect voting...
