@Glennn,
Q: Glennn - Is it possible to not let one hand know what the other is doing?
A: Yes; in fact, it is good managerial practice to keep all Hands busy at all times without them knowing what the other Hands are up to; it starts with the Leading Hand; tell him/her to do something, and send them off... then gather all the other Hands around you and give them each a task by whispering it in their ears... this then stops jealousy growing among the Hands, because each will think they have a plum job while the others have drudgery... this problem doesn't arrive with Station Hands, because one will be off riding the fence-line while another will be checking the bore drains, and so on
Q: How do birds know what route to travel on their migrations?
