Did George Floyd ever threaten anyone's life? Did he threaten the lives of the cops who subdued him?

Why don’t you command one to watch the news for you?

One can pray for anything - doesn't mean you are going to get it. You can command angels to do stuff for you - doesn't mean they will do it. If it is not in God's plan think an angel is going to override Him because you prayed or commanded it?

@izzythepush,
I believe that the God of Mr.Goldman's understanding, has instructed him to use his internet access as an avenue to people who can do the work for him (Goldman that is). This would allow Mr.Goldman more time to devote to prayer, penance and prostrating himself in pious humility to the God of his (again, Mr.Goldman) understanding.

No longer being either a Jew or Christian myself, I'm not sure.

@JGoldman10,
You are perhaps speaking of the old testament, probably in Psalms with David and his prayers. David was a hunted man by Saul and his son. Even so, since he was a warring King, he couldn't be the one to build the temple. Moreover, we are now in these times of the NT. (thank goodness)

I would not want to pray for anyone's death, I wouldn't want that responsibility or guilt on my conscience. In any case, I think you interpret the scripture wrong.

@Sturgis,
I think it’s his online pastor who tells him what to do. Mr Goldman seems to defer to him on a whole range of issues, not just theological.

@Linkat,
From https://www.kcm.org/real-help/faith/learn/5-ways-put-your-angels-work :

"You have been given the authority of Jesus Christ, as an heir, and you can command your angels to move on your behalf to carry out the Word (Psalm 103:20). Kenneth Copeland advises saying something like this: 'In the Name of Jesus, ministering spirits, I assign you according to Hebrews 1:13-14 to see to it that I have protection in this car, in this airplane, in this building. I claim this right as an heir to salvation.' "

@JGoldman10,
That does not in any way change the fact that when God say your time is over on Earth, it is over. You might ascend to Heaven immediately, but, your brain and body will be dead.

@izzythepush,
The Bible says if you love God to keep His commandments and obey His Word.

Jesus said for Christians to walk in love but to hate sin, flee and abstain from sin, and to rebuke sin openly.

@JGoldman10,
What does Jesus say about being accused about passing a counterfeit bill???

I have been searching thru my bible, neither the Old Testament or New Testament mention murder over an accusation about filthy lucre....what say you?

@JGoldman10,
His commandments?

They’re from the Egyptian Book Of The Dead, centuries before Moses was made aware of them.

@Linkat,
You're ignorant. Christians can pray and ask angels to form a hedge of protection around them. That's Biblical.

Angels do protect Christians:

https://www.beliefnet.com/inspiration/angels/6-bible-verses-about-angels-providing-protection.aspx

When we Christians pray God sends us angels:

http://www.christianitydaily.com/articles/8741/20161216/when-pray-god-sends-angels.htm

https://www.google.com/amp/s/juststepsin.wordpress.com/2018/06/14/the-psalm-91-prayer-for-a-hedge-of-protection/amp/

Psalm 91:11 - "For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go."

@Linkat,
"Full of power"? No, there are some cops who think they can abuse their power. They let their authority go to their head.

My family and I pray for the police forces of the U.S. and in every other country of the world - we pray that the Lord roots all the bad people out of them and replaces them with godly men and women.

You say that without a hint of irony. You’re the most ignorant person I know. I don’t mean that in an insulting way, but in a factual way. Not only do you not know what is going on in the World but ordinary things that most people would consider common knowledge are a revelation to you.

Your angels haven’t protected you from profound ignorance. You can do something about it though, watch the news, or a documentary, read a book or magazine, something that’s not rabidly Christian.

@JGoldman10,
If praying can protect Christians from harm, then what about the shooting at the Charleston Church that was mentioned eariler? The victims were killed as they were praying.

"After other participants began praying, the shooter Dylann Roof stood up, and aimed a gun he pulled from a fanny pack at 87-year-old Susie Jackson. Jackson's nephew, 26-year-old Tywanza Sanders, tried to talk him down and asked him why he was attacking churchgoers. The shooter said, "I have to do it. You rape our women and you're taking over our country. And you have to go." When he said he intended to shoot them all, Sanders dove in front of Jackson and was shot first. The shooter fired at the other victims, shouting racial epithets. He reportedly said, "Y'all want something to pray about? I'll give you something to pray about."He reloaded his gun five times."

@JGoldman10,
Why have you turned your thread into a sneak religious thread in a political section of A2k? Shouldn't you be discussing these biblical doctrine beliefs in the religious section?

The answer to both questions on the title of your thread, is no and no. He was murdered pure and simple.

As for your doctrine, it is cobbled together to mean what you want it to mean.
