In Oz they're allowed to see anything, but they're NOT allowed to do it secretly. The laws were recently strengthened in that regard. My company places a big security warning on the screen as soon as you logon, so no excuses there. And being an administrator, I've got to be extra careful.

Poor Mrs Cav! Shocked
What a rotten thing to have to do to fellow workers. Shocked I'm not surprised she hit the plonk after that. Be nice to her today, OK?

Cav- Hate to bust your bubble, but when you work for someone there is an implied contract that you will perform the duties for which you were hired. That does not include personal stuff, although many people act like it does, and a bit of it IS tolerated by some firms.

Cav, did she give any thought to surupticiously deleting anything that might be considered incriminating? I think I might be tempted to do that if I found something basically harmless, but which could be used to fire someone.

<sigh> Sorry folks, the situation has come and gone, and is too complicated to explain. Let's also say that Mrs. cav was performing the duties she was hired for, given the broad sweep of IT administrator.

Today could be better. After last night, I really wanted to spend time with others today. But everyone I know is out. And it's very grey and won't stop raining.

Mrs. cav just finished an office move yesterday, VERY stressful, and went out to a party after. Apparently polished off a half-bottle of Jamieson's Laughing I am sooo gonna make fun of her all day. She needed it though....her office is in complete turmoil with the move, and she has been asked by the bosses to do things that truly offend her moral nature.

LOL! Sometimes you have EARNED a half bottle of scotch!

I think everyone at my office went home on Friday night to get pissed - has been such a horrid few months - and week. I did - I allow myself that sometimes - and there was fabulous scotch at $20 down!

Sadly, someone wanted to have a serious talk with me when I got home - started out ok, but deteriorated. Ruined the talk, and the scotch....WAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!! (I become more emotional and perseverant - unless I become outrageous and cuttingly witty)

Now I'm gonna have to save up my liver before I can let my hair down again!!!

At least good scotch leaves little hangover....

You sound like a lovely husband, Cav.

One upon a time, I used to be able to afford a good bottle of scotch most weekends - the fellas I lived with at the time used to have most of it - though workmates got a bit on Friday night - as did the weekend's visitors....

Good scotch makes you feel all warm, and soft.....heeheheeheheh...

Hope today is better, Wilso.

A client walked in a few days ago with a sack in hand to thank us for our work earlier this year... and it turned out to be a bottle of single malt scotch (he got the word that I love them from the architect) and a bottle of some kind of berry syrup liquer. Wow. I used to get boxes of candy when I was a lab tech from various physicians, and used to get weird dry fruit gifts or gift baskets from irrigation product suppliers when I worked years later in a land arch firm, but this is a first... a plain thank you by a client who doesn't need us again, what a pleasure. Plus, I'll get the scotch, my business partner hates it.

I was spoiled, my ex and I had a friend, a teacher of his, who always had a cabinet full of this and that, including several single malts of different years. Even then I couldn't afford to buy those and I'm poooooooooorer now. It sounds like we used to get snockered but not actually. We would have a "sip" when we came to his house, in the den, and then go out to the kitchen and cook up a feast of some sort, usually then with a glass of wine at hand... but no obliterating drinking, just tasting, a good experience that grows even better in memory.

Still, I agree, if I have a horrid day, first thing in the door I pour something
and then go play with my dog.

Sheeeesh Wilso - I know I told you to keep drinking...... - but, as you didn't take my other advice.... (or perhaps you did - if you were at home watching the football!)

And that in itself was bloody depressing. At least the bloody awful cold and wet weather kept down the number of gloating Poms in the city yesterday!

My mobile phone was still saying "Go Wallabies" yesterday afternoon (phone co sponsors them) - a bit late though!

Davis Cup tennis final against Spain next weekend!

Ha! We watched the last ten minutes - I was glad to see the Poms win - they don't get to win all that much - which is odd, since they have such a huge population, relatively speaking, to choose teams from.

keep taking the tablets and let them give you space to sort out the problems and work out your way of dealing with stuff - and only then ease off them. Lots of good advice about that from everyone else has been given already.

Good luck Wilso.

Also - I don't recognise the medication you are on but you shouldn't drink alcohol with a lot of antidepressants (prozac is one) as it 'potentiates' the alcohol and makes you more drunk for less alcohol ... could explain the wedding hangover!!

You seem to have achieved a lot you should be proud of.

I didn't end up going back on the medication. I don't believe that what I'm feeling now could be clinically described as depression. I believe it's just loneliness, which medication is not going to cure.

But the singles site I recently joined looks promising. I've received a couple of messages already, and will probably be off to Sydney in the next week or so to meet one of the ladies.
