Yeah! Letty's back! I worried more thinking you were going to be outta touch.

Rain just started POURING down here in Raleigh. Thought we weren't due until around noon tomorrow, so I don't know if this is the front bands, or something from the west. A little thunder. No lightening yet.

It will likely be a tropical storm by noon tomorrow, and we are in his path, but we are so used to power outages in our neck of the woods (poor blessed squirrels) that I don't think we'll see much change in our normal ( Laughing ) life. I crossing my fingers, anyway.

Nope, not Charley. Another system with tornado's. Bummer. I was looking forward to that pizza, but can't call for one now.

Will close down for now and check back after this passes.

Hey Panzade, I just found this thread as someone mentioned it on "Weather or Not" ....

We are all fine here, just had some brief intermittent episodes of rain and wind, nothing much!

I hear the next 45 mins. will be the worst for Orlando area. We are just east of Orlando, on the coast, and the storm is just west of Orlando, so we are just getting the peripherals.

It was recommended people in Cocoa Beach and north of there leave, but it was not mandatory.

Rae and I dug our heels in and stated we are not moving, we are staying here with the kitties and weather the storm, so to speak!!!

Hugs, will keep ya'all posted on the storm.

I KNOW Letty is okay cuz Rae is on the phone with her:)

My prayers are still with you all, the rain on my roof is a constant reminder of what's going on over there. Keep in touch!

I was thinking about your lovely place right next to the beach. Has the ocean ever gone over A1A?

I lived in North Fort Myers in 1960 during Hurricane Donna. We lived on a canal near the river. The first half of the storm pushed the river water toward the gulf and lowered the water level about 6-8 feet. After the eye passed the wind direction reversed and the level rose 6-8 feet above normal just 2-3 feet short of the house.

What you see on TV doesn't approach the actual storm. During the height of the wind and rain you can't see 6 feet.

Panzade, I've written this response 3 times, and all 3 times the electric went out before I posted.

I've never seen A1A flood over since we came here in 1978, so needless to say, I never want to see it flood over because being on the ground floor here, I'm sure it wouldn't be pretty.

The bulk of the storm is just north of Daytona Beach and west of Orlando at the moment ... we are seeing some brief winds and rain, but that's about it. I'm hoping it won't get any worse.

Miss Letty is fine ~ she sounded great and seems to be up to the task of riding the storm. I will call her again tomorrow to make sure she and Bud are okay.

The next stop on my list is Phoenix. If Mom would ever get off the phone, I'd call her.....Will report back.

Hi, Rae! Good to see you back here, even if it is under these circumstances. It's been too long, and I've missed you.

Thank you, Miss Eva ~ I've missed you, too! A2K is on my list of goals and I will do my best to be around more often!

I'm still waiting for Mom to get off the phone to call Phoenix ~ I'm sure she's fine, but I'll feel better talking to her.

I'll be back soon.....
