Latest is that 35-40 are dead. Up to 100 hostages at Bataclan Concert Hall.

Over 30 dead, last report.
100+ hostages, Battaclan Theater.
Panic at soccer stadium. Game over but 80,000+ not leaving. Staying on field.
Over 50 dead now that I type.

Glad I have not seen images yet.

Stadium sealed, evidently.

I'm not sure how widespread the attack is, but stay safe.

I'm so sorry, Paris and Parisians. Edgearblythe and I were chatting when I saw a headline.

After we read around, it looks (if reports are accurate) like at least three separate but coordinated attacks around Paris with hostages.

The security of Europe is going to break down, it is just a matter of how far. For all those who have not understood till now let the light bulb go off, the very existence of the EU is in grave doubt. This is what happens when leadership is incompetent and living in a fantasyland. America is very likely next.

via Guardian updates, taxi's are taking people home for free



edit to add that the Guardian link (I know some people probably don't like that paper) has listed embassies to call for worried people with friends visiting Paris..

ISIS did not exist then. This is almost certainly ISIS, they are out to prove global reach, which before two weeks ago intel did not believe that they could accomplish.

Still needs to be confirmed however.

We're hearing calls on Boston radio to take in French citizens if they are unable to get on a plane at Logan and go home tonight.

It's horrific, I don't know what we can do to make it stop. They blew up a Russian airliner recently. We are dealing with nihilists, they kill people for being the wrong type of "Muslim".

There are still hostages at the theater, its horrible.
