@George,
I used to live in town next to Flutie during his hey-day. He was quite the guy to us locals after the Hail Mary pass in college. In my mind he deserved far more credit than he recvd. Whether he was in CFL or NFL, he was a winner. Knowing the kind of shape he always kept himself in, I'd bet Bills could do a lot worse by trying him.

FWIW, the biggest cinema in Framingham/Natick was re-named Flutie Pass back around 1996 or thereabout.

@Ragman,
True and I actually like Detroit much better. But I read some damned analyst(s).

So, ok, I'll get one wrong. ; )

@ossobuco,
And you'll probably beat the pants off me. Wanna bet a cyber-wine or cyber- beer?

@ossobuco,
Sure thing. I got some decent wines on my list...and some whines when I lose.

BTW, I have a fave red wine (Pinot Noir) that knocks the pants off of many of the wines I've tasted in the last 5 yrs. I've turned it on to my wine-loving sister and brother-in-law and my niece. The catch is that it sells around $19. However, I generally keep myself around $12 or under due to a meager budget.

@Ragman,
And now it is a mere 72 hours until the 2013/2014 NFL season begins. I am so excited. I may have to take a nap.
17 players are in so far. We need one more...just one more...to make my game within a game work..
We welcome more players of course.

@Ragman,
For the same reason, I've gotten acclimated to plonk. But twice in recent months Diane and I went to a restaurant we like and splurged. It's reasonably priced, the food is good, and the wine list is super for this area. Anyway, I'm in love with Antinori's Campogrande Orvieto Classico - goes with salad and steamed mussels. Didn't check the year but online a bottle is said to go for $10 - $12. I may have to buy it one of these days.

Ok, good luck then!

@ossobuco,
I've gone locally for '2 buck chuck' (Charles Shaw) at Trader Joe's (3 of 'em in Albuquerque) for my inexpensive wines. Not bad at all. Shockingly it has no off-taste,...just not overly memorable...but at current price of $4.50 it can't be beat by any under $8 wines....red or white.

However, if you were to pin me down to a white wine in the category you mentioned, I like Pighin Pinot Grigio at around $12.50 a bottle. memorable

@Ragman,
TJ's ain't anywhere near me, which is too bad, as I've long liked them, mostly. I've tasted two buck chuck. Eh! I drink whatever cabernet is least expensive that week. Eh! So it goes.

So back to football guessing. I'm glad the Pick-Um game is getting going.

JohnBoy, have the CowDocs posted picks? I missed them if they did..

They probably want me to do something other than "home team for week 1", but if the Bills win then I've given us a win over the rest of the teams. I'm sticking with the Bills for week 1.

Would it be improper for me to demand to be traded?

Just kidding.

I'm sure there are weeks my teammates are not going to want me to pick the Cardinals.

@George,
They are much improved. It remains to be seen how that translates into wins and losses.
