OK...I did the math and studied schedules and see that I made a miscalculation and now make a retraction:

I predict that Pats will be 10-6. No one in their division beyond Miami I predict will be above 500. Therefore it makes it more likely the Pats be hitting it at 10-6. However quite a few of the other teams in the other divisions generally look stronger and competitive. I'm unclear about Houston's chances.

Furthermore, I predict Denver in SB more likely than not will be facing SF 49-ers. Not too clear about NFC. I see Niners having a slight edge over Falcons (defense unknown improvement) and Packers and Giants. With the recent injuries and developments, Seattle will not make it to the finish line.

If Houston had a better quarterback I would be more comfortable going in this year.

Houston's got a great defense, that's for sure. JJ Watt is number one stats-wise, to my knowledge. At some point, I seem to recall, their QB around halfway through the season became less effective.

In the last game or the one before, in one play, Shaub looked truly amazed that his pass connected. That's what did it for me. I'd had doubts about him all season. But when it seemed obvious he also had doubts I wanted him gone. Some have told me I read this wrong. Whatever, I want somebody else.
