I thought I was the only one based on George's chart, but your picks came in after.

@ossobuco,
Tonight's game is Seahawks v Cardinals.

I assume you meant the Broncos v Colts Sunday night game.

@George,
Yeah, I did. I just got overexcited by deciding to give up and pick Denver, and beat the clock in doing so. (Fever, give me fever..)

Meantime, I think there's a chance for the Cardinals, though I picked the Seahawk squawks.

@ossobuco,
Quote:
The trouble with being poor is that it takes up all your time. (William de Kooning, via Camp's unfamiliar quotations)

I really like that quote.

@Ragman,
Me too - I have to read more of that book of unfamiliar quotations.

I was surprised de Kooning said that, but I don't know all that much about him as a person. I just happened to open the book, maybe to give away since I haven't read it, and landed on that page.

It was great to see so many folks posting their picks today. We are missing only one player with a few hours left.
Meanwhile, I heard from CoinToss: AZ, Balt, Mia, Chic, Cinc, Dal, Hous, NE, SD, Car, Atl, Tenn, GB, Den, NYG.

Only Jespah joins Tico in picking Arizona over Seattle tonight.
In Team Play after 6 weeks, I have Ehbeth/Mysteryman/Rhys at 96 while Tico/Kolyo/JPB are at 98. Miz Cowdoc/Coastal/Lightening had a good week and are now at 100.
The rest of us are not faring too well.

Week #7 Preview:
CoastalRat and Johnboy agree with the majority on all 15 games. Rhys, Panzade and Ragman are off on just one game each.
Jespah continues to be Jespah. Miz Cowdoc is out of step on 6 games.
We all agree that Atlanta will beat Tampa Bay. Only Miz C has the Jets over the Patriots. The Vikings (1o votes) vs the Giants (9) is the only tossup.
We agree on 82% of our choices. That is in line with previous weeks.

even a blind squirrel...

Speaking of squirrels, which we weren't but if we were while I am trying to kill time by searching for something to talk about on an overcast Saturday in the mountains of Virginia while waiting for Sunday's games...
I have noticed a big net increase in the squirrel population this year. They seem to be breeding like rabbits. A local media outlet did a story on it, claiming that last fall there had been a bumper crop of acorns. That was followed by a mild winter. Gray squirrels breed twice a year.
I claim that there is a "big net increase" in squirrels. On my daily commute to work on county roads and through the leafy UVA part of town I have noticed a lot of squirrel roadkill.
One of our customers mentioned that she and her teenaged daughter had recently driven the 5 miles to the dog park. The kid counted 27 dead squirrels which I found remarkable. Not because there were 27 dead squirrels. Rather, that the child was more interested in counting dead squirrels then in texting.

@realjohnboy,
You gotta be nuts to try to text to dead squirrels. Even on a good day they don't text much.

@ossobuco,
Meantime, I'm sort of interested in the story behind the story of the death of the 49's and Stanford's football team doctor, written so far as potential suicide. He seems to have been quite a smart, capable, man who was dealing with some question of malfeasance.

@realjohnboy,
That good old song of
Wah-hoo-wah
We'll sing it o'er and o'er
It cheers our hearts and
warms our blood
To hear them shout and roar.
We come from Old Virginia,
Where all is bright and gay.
Let's all join hands and give a yell
For the dear old UVa
Wah-hoo-wah,
Wah-hoo-wah.
Uni-v, Virginia,
Hoo-rah-ray,
Hoo-rah-ray,
Ray! Ray! U-V-a

I miss my ol' Alma
