kickycan: I hate to say it, but I think (in a general sense) it could be a guy thing. Generally speaking, guys don't seem to have the same sort of emotional attachment women do to "the act".

Surely the Mrs. is worth more than 20 bucks? Maybe if you splurged for dinner, a movie, AND flowers, you might get back what you give!
