By the way, Bill, the Wikipedia article on the battle contradicts your source saying that the Indians who fought with Jackson were Creek, who were participants in the civil war within the Muskogee/Creek nation to which i have already alluded--it does not mention the Cherokee. Did it ever occur to you that a Cherokee organization might not be the most reliable source for information about Cherookee relations with the United States?

This article at the Georgia encyclopedia states that it was Creek who fought with Jackson.

This is the Internet. You don't have a "right" to respect. You are welcome to bitch about A2K or anything else. For that matter you are free to leave though I enjoy your presence and hope you plan to stay. You also have a right to flame all the rest of us just as we reserve the right to flame you. My take is that your opinions get a much more thorough airing here than you would get in either another Internet forum or in person. I can't see why getting the occasional flame counts as "not respecting the rights of others". As to my "clear superiority", I do the best I can to control it. Very Happy

Everybody has a right to human rights, on the internet and anywhere else. We moderns like to yak about human rights and demand our rights when we dont feel that we are getting what we want, but we are not so good at practicing human rights by way of respecting other peoples rights to their own minds and feelings. No, are you another one who claims that only the specialists have the right to speak? Do you think that only the experts have the right to form an opinion? We see a lot of that these days, it is more lack of allowing others to have their own mind and opinions, and lack of basic human respect for other humans.
