This choice is, at core, the defining characteristic of liberalism.

What??? The defining question of liberalism is whether to have a clean mind or body? I am confused, having both and believing self to be fully liberal.

I admit, I hitched with a friend once, on a short trip to California. Met one very frightening person and many extremely nice ones who took us home to mom for breakfast and such. I think we must have always been quite clean.

It's not because yer dirty
It's not because yer clean
It's 'cause yer folks are Protestants
And you eat margarine . . .

In Ireland, they can't give it away . . .

[Cut to RTE commercial]
Well, madame, and how do you like new, improved Papist margarine?

Yes, well, it is rather nice, innit?

You would serve that to yer family, then?

Oh yes, i'm sure i would (unspoken: when bloody hell freezes over, ya great bleatin' twit).

I believe eating margarine killed my mother. I would never have anything but butter, believe me.

Papist Margarine -- yuk-yuk.

Is there something about cleanliness being next to Godliness that makes some of us associate being a little less than clean with being unhung up and liberal? In any case, Setanta prefers women in the natural......so maybe it has to do with allowing ourselves to be seen and not being obsessed with perfection.

aaaah, thanks folks. This has been quite the entertaining digression thread (really!). I have a favorite of the men I've been getting to know. But there are 2-3 others who are real close.

A time line and everything, thats just fabulous....how good of you to set yourself boundaries and all that. It is helpful if you are at the point you are at, I suppose. Very thoughtful of you as well.
So, are you going to have another date with each of these fellas?
