Good grief. What Spitzer did was disgusting, but I don't think that a lot of people got that upset when Bill Clinton was gettting blowjobs in the Oval Office.

Personally, if Mrs. Spitzer was smart, she would divorce her husband, and as a parting gift, give him a present of a year's worth of therapy on a shrink's couch. That guy has hormones in the place where his brains should be!

Huh?

That's a major memory alteration job, Phoenix.

Clinton was hounded for years re that blowjob, faced impeachment, and it still obsesses the minds of goodness knows how many on the right.

That statement "but I don't think that a lot of people got that upset when Bill Clinton was gettting blowjobs in the Oval Office" really is quite ridiculous.

The amount of drama over Clinton's sex life still evident among the wing nuts here, for example, is quite staggering.

I haven't followed this one a lot, but I don't care about this fella's sex life, either, unless it was illegal, or involved corruption of whatever his office is, or was.

dlowan- Yeah, I remember the storm and fury, but as they say, "at the end of the day" Bill stayed on as president, his marriage intact. He has his glory as a beloved ex-president, and is still popular amongst many people.

Spitzer had to quit his job, may lose his license to practice law, and may well end up in the slammer.

With 13 soldiers killed this last few days one might think you had something better to talk about than a carefully selected still picture cut from a piece of film.

He didn't pay for it though he did provide some friendly references afterward (in the case of Monica). Spitzer paid $80,000! That's not just an extra-marital affair. That's a whole new level of prostitution for a guy who campaigned on an anti-corruption platform.

You have that completely backwards.

Bill Clinton had sex with a young woman (nearly half his age) who worked for the White House. TWhen the head of an organization has sex with a younger employee it raises questions of ethics and undue influence.

Spitzer paid for sex with a woman. This had absolutely nothing to do with his responsibilities as governor.

Clinton's ethical breach is far worse (ethically speaking).

Clinton's blow job is going to live on in infamy.

Bottom line getting free sex is not against the law; paying for sex is.

Why are restaurants busy on Valentine's Day?

What are expensive presents for? Why are some blokes to be seen in soft furnishings watching their wages being squandered on new curtains when they could be at the racetrack or the pool hall or in the boozer?

There's something honest about a straight cash transaction.

One might defend the position when it is assailed from all sides by voyeuristic hypocrisy as a screen for special pleading.

To not do would be irresponsible. It would be unconditional surrender.

Forget it. Your cheap jibes have no affect on me. And you don't have to prove you're not 100% dude. We've got that too.

spendius most likely grew up in a very whiny sheltered home as a
single child who didn't even have to fend for his food.

If he may end up in the slammer one may assume he may have done something illegal?

Dream on kid.

If you have got to the point of fantasy to support whatever position it is you are supporting I would get some better reading material than you are obviously used to.

And the escape route of "most likely" is really naff.

Did his "anti-corruption platform" include denunciations of prostitution?

Ah! Well, it seems fair he resign, then. (I guess if being a john is illegal in the US it was a done deal anyway.)

Oh, the predictability!
