There once was a young man
And he lived all alone
And he worked at the weaver's trade
And the only, only thing
That he did that was wrong
Was to woo a fair young maid
He wooed her in the summer time
Part of the winter, too
And the only, only thing
That he did that was wrong
Was to keep her from the foggy, foggy dew . . .
I suppose we all want someone to keep us from the foggy, foggy dew . . . but it entails a surrender of some of one's freedom in a solitary existence . . .
Here you go, msolga:

And I'll pass on your thoughts to my friend!
'a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle'...
old saying around here, i believe coined in provincetown awhile back or so the girls here say.
seems to have a ring of truth to it now and again.......
now it's certainly nice to canoe with others, but it's good to know that you've got a canoe, and can paddle it yer own dang self - if that's what you want or need to do.
Been paddling my own canoe for 11 years. I don't think I've got anything to prove in that department. It'd be nice to have some help doing it for a change.
Just starting swapping emails with a lady I've contacted on a singles site. Lives locally. We're getting to know each other on-line a bit before we meet.
Fingers crossed for ya Wilso mate !!
That's good news, Wilso.
I think that's what I like about canoeing, Wilso. It's something you can do on your own, but it's very nice and very possible to do it with someone else. Sort of an unusual sport in that way.
Enjoy your new friendship, Wilso!
She's phd student. At the same uni I go to I just found out.
A coincidence, Wilso ... or maybe fate?
So, when are you going to meet?
oooohhhhh, good going Wilso!

Don't know yet. It's only been a couple of days. She wants us to swap emails first for a while, and I'm happy to go at whatever speed she feels comfortable with.
I always thought slower was better ;-)
