Well - in any case that doesn't change facts about medical terms.

You're paranoid about people with guns. I am not. Everyone should have them. Get it?

Again the wrong term (and besides: why and how did I get my marksman certificate, you think?), and again you show .... well: see above.

Dag's post shows the incredible depth of ignorance that I'm up against. It has nothing to do with him being a felon or not, it has everything to do with the anti-gun, anti-2A hang him in public before the trial attitude of NY Mayor Bloomberg and the NYPD.

No, it isn't the wrong term. Now you're a troll. You even look like one in your avatar.

a) it is the wrong term (Look up any medical dictionary),
b) this here is no beauty contest.

Dag is right here, why do you keep talking about people in 3rd person?

I responded to the original post, what the thread was suggesting to be about. The NYPD action was logical and legal. The pro-gun or anti-gun is a separate debate that's been smeared all over various threads, and I, for one, am absolutely not interested in discsusing that with you, since your idea of discussion is miles from what i consider a civilized dialogue.

This is what can happen when you live in a nazi-police state like NY. The guy apparently never hurt anyone, he just happened to own something they don't like. I hope this kind of crap doesn't start happening across America soon. God forbid we elect a gun grabbing democrap.

I'm going to try and follow this case. While 20,000 rounds may seem excessive, there are plenty of reasons you might own that many. Consider that Cabelas sells rifle ammo in 100-500 round cases. Shotgun ammo goes 250 rounds to the case. .22LR is sold in "bricks" of 500 or 1000 rounds. I literally have thousands of rounds of .22 laying around that don't work in my guns - they jam. Does that make me a criminal? Apparently in the eyes of the NYPD.

BTW I can buy an "AR-15" style semit-auto rifle at my local gun store. I have a huge "cache" of knives including some really scary looking 10" chefs knives and cleavers.

This was your initial post, cjhsa. It is wrong in multiple points.

The guy HAS threatened his girlfriend (who turned him in to the police, which is why they followed and arrested him) - so while he may not have hurt anyone physically, he was a threat, and an armed one.

You can perhaps buy AR-15 in your local gun store, but you CAN NOT drive with it loaded, with 18 magazines on the back seat. The guy had 800 ammo, and another gun in the car with him, and was right near the Wall Street. That is when he was stopped and arrested.

Say you're a cop. You get a call about a guy who has threatened someone, you run a backgroun check, see that he was locked up before for 6 months, failed a psychological test and allegedly posseses multiple weapons. You follow this guy and see him heading for Wall Street. What would you do? I am curious.

How do you propose to go after the terrorists if you consider actions as this one by NYPD unlawful? Or should the police and army ask you first whether you approve?

Acknowledgement: I have heard your points, every single one of them. Multiple times. Repeating them does not make them true, they still remain nonsensical (my opinion). Feel free to stop repeating them any time, you're not changing anybody's mind.

The after arrests actions of the NYPD to claim this was some sort of huge cache of weapons to confound and confuse the public is what it wrong with the picture. I don't mind them doing their jobs, they just need to know when to quit.

that's completely different from what you were saying before. changed your mind? you were saying they arrested a lawful owner of weapons because they're so anti-2nd ammendment in New York and all.

I rest my case.

It has everything to do with his being a felon. Our federal gun laws are probably the most lenient in the world. We do not have to prove we are in anyway qualified to own firearms, nor do we need to show a need for them. We need only state we do not meet any disqualifications; among these qualifications are the absence of felony convictions.

Were everyone to have a right to own and/or carry, regardless of felony convictions, or having been adjucated mentally incompetent, I would have to change positions on the whole issue of individual ownership. Hang in there, cjhsa. You're doing a great job - for the anti gun portion of the population.

I'm pretty sure that you can drive with a loaded AR-15 in the back seat. Before I moved to Illinois, I used to drive with a loaded gun in my car every time and everywhere. At least 3 or 4 times even with an AR-15.

Who needs a loaded assault weapon in the back seat?

That's a little over the top.

Since there's no such thing as an "assault" weapon I don't get the argument. Either you can or you can't. Varies by region.

OK cj, a loaded military semi automatic rifle in the back seat.

Load it at the range if you are going to obliterate stuff there.
