@ehBeth,
Oh! Sorry! I didn't 'get that' in your post. How long has she been in the hospital. This is the first I have read about it.

@littlek,
mrs hamburger went in for a hip replacement on Tuesday - her potassium levels tanked yesterday, probably from all the post-surgery meds

hamburger and I talked about bananas late last night - I thought of this thread this morning ... sent hamburger some links - baked potatoes with skin on is going to be the order of the day once they can get mrs hamburger stabilized

She can get her K level back up. They can give her a slow K pill . That always worked for me. Only thing is that the damn pills are as big as a football.

@farmerman,
They put her on an IV for potassium yesterday as well as the horse pills.

Just heard from hamburger - she's stable, and did well in physiotherapy today. Hooray!

Now to get everyone here healthy so we can go and visit and join the hamburgers in a festival of baked potatoes!

@ehBeth,
all is well !
potassium back to normal , physiotherapist made her climb the stairs (for a final test) and declared : "better than new !" .
she is home and doing very well - the pain of the last several months were pretty severe - a few weeks of "rest AND exercise" should put her back to her old-self again !
thx for all your nice thoughts and comments !
hbg and the mrs hbg
