Diane, I think the real problem is that you're reading it inside your avatar where it's 'really, really,' dark.

C.I. == you are a smoth talker and a quick wit, dear sir.
Dear Diary,
B. and I have enjoyed our weekend. Grandson visited yesterday. Grandma and I had him for a whole afternoon while his parents went to a movie.
Tampa Bay just won their game at Philly. B. and I have followed Brad Johnson since his college days at FSU. We know he is a worker, but that he has been held back by folks who felt he didn't have what it takes. Also, FSU had a number of players on both teams. Lets see: Brooks, Jackson, Spires, Thomas (Philly); there may have been others.
Excuse me, c.i., I haven't been inside a black iris in ages.
And you tried your best to fix it for me. Ah well.
Dear Diary,
A sincere thanks for all of the wonderful people here for their kind words....
Dear Diary --- I'm going to divorce you. I've met a pocket computer and it likes the way I press it's buttons.
Babs hope you are having a better day today.
DD
My net friends have been asking where I've been. I don't know - just been caught up in a tornado of being REALLY busy, in all the corners of my life.
I'm starting to wonder how thin I can be spread????
Dear Diary,
the working day ended with a 2 hour phone conference. Agh, I hate that!
But - it's Tuesday. My TV night! So in half an hour I will start out with ER, go on to Sex and the city and end with Ally McBeal. Very relaxing!
Dear Diary, I really wish only two things in life - right now. The first is my hope for world peace. The second is a success over world hunger. Not asking for much when compared to what this world spends on war machines, soldiers, and world poluting vehicles. c.i.

C.i., I've often wondered why, in all of history, the human race has never been able to achieve world wide peace nor found a way to end hunger; however, I join you in your wish.
DD,
Both my older brothers have a form of mental retardation due to something called Fragile X Syndrome. One lives in a group home in Tucson (our home town) and the other lives in Denver where he moved when my parents moved to Colorado.
On Friday, I got a call from the supervisor in Tucson telling me that my brother had been hit by a truck while crossing the street in a crosswalk. He is in intensive care but, luckily, the worst injury was a broken leg. There were scratches on his liver and spleen, but not anything that won't heal. He isn't very verbal, which makes it hard for the doctors to get him to tell them how he feels. He is stable and almost ready to be moved to a regular room.
Later on Friday, I got a call from Denver from my brother Steve's group home, telling me that he was in the hospital with pneumonia. Thankfully, he was able to go home yesterday.
I go to Tucson once a year and to Denver once a year and call quite often, yet it is still a worry being this far away,as I am the only living relative who has any contact with them. Getting two calls like that in one afternoon was mind boggling. I'm so grateful that they both seem to be doing surprisingly well, especially John, considering how serious the accident was and the fact that it was a truck that hit him.
I hope never to have another Friday afternoon like that.
Diane, There is certainly some lopsidedness to our government's willingness to spend billions on war, but not much on feeding the hungry, and sheltering the cold - in this country. c.i.
Diana, I bet Saturday looked pretty good after Friday!
Dear Diary,
The day began around 5 AM. I read an Email from my nephew in OKlahoma. He basically told me off about some things regarding family obligations.
At 9:30 I met with my doctor. Then at 10:45, I drove to West End Elementary School to have lunch with Clint. I am his mentor; on Wednesdays we eat together, do a little schoolwork and then play chess. He's a Wheaties poster kid...red bushy hair. Later, I drove to the library to tutor an adult. Presently, we are studying the GED math test and reading. What followed was an appointment with the audiologist (sp)...apparently I need to spend $2000-$4000 on hearing aids.
Soooooo, I'm looking at the computer...wondering about supper and looking forward to West Wing.
Mapleleaf, I've been deaf for the better part of my sixties - now 67, but refuse to pay $4,000 for a hearing aid that may not work properly. I've heard many horror stories, so make sure the one you get takes care of ambient sounds, has volume control, and it's comfortable. c.i.
BTW, some companies will let you "test drive" their hearing aid. Check it out! c.i.
That I will, that I will.
