Can't assign facebook blog page to my personal facebook account - Help!

You don't "assign". You make your personal account the administrator of your page. If you are the page creator, and you have never given up those rights, then you already have them. When you post, you can click on the gear wheel (upper right corner, near where you log out) if you want to post as yourself (personal account) or as your page.

Thanks Jespah but I made the Page seperately to my personal account so they are two absolutely separate accounts at the moment using different email addresses so unfortunately I can't do as you suggest.

Obviously I created the page wrong in the first place and should have done it when logged into my personal account.

Any other suggestions?

Your best bet would be to recreate the page under your personal account.
