Montana, being somewhat of an expert in French, and the ways of the froggie male in general, I am of the opinion that, even though they spend nine months trying to get out, and the rest of their lives trying to get back in, some may appear a little shy.

What you need to do is to take a deep breath, and break the ice with a little harmless greeting in his own language, to put him at ease.

For instance, when you see him arrive at work, casually stroll past and say something like "Hello, isn't it a nice day, today"

Which in French, is " Bonjour, avez vous un concombre dans votre poche?"

This should make him smile, and give him the correct message that you are interested.

Good luck.

Laughing Laughing Laughing Nice try, but if I do take the time, I realize that I can still read some french Laughing Laughing Laughing

Nice try though, everyone Laughing

Has it just been glances so far?
Have you smiled at him?
A smile can speak a thousand words, even in french.

Oh, believe me, he knows I'm interested and I know he's interested, so he's just gonna have to do the scary work because I'm too scared Laughing

Well, there are loads of glances, some long, some not and you could say I have a bit of a smile on my face.
Put it this way, we look at eachother like we want to get to know eachother better, if that makes sense.

I sing and dance while I work and he likes that Laughing

I'll be singing away and I look up to catch him watching, which is when I smile just slightly and throw him some pleasing eyes, to assure him that it's ok with me if he likes to watch Cool

We can see in eachothers departments and my work area happens to face his department, so we constantly catch eachother looking :-D

If you see him today, just wish him luck in the World Cup (Sunday, they're in the final....against Italy).

Tell him that, and he will smile...guaranteed.

He will then ask you to go for a coffee.

You will giggle and say OK.

At coffee, he will ask you on a date.

You will giggle and say OK.

By the third date, he will propose.

You will giggle and say OK.

All the women on A2K will, upon hearing the news, pop an ovary and go out to buy a new hat for the wedding.

See how simple it is?

If he catches yuo dancing, smile and do a laugh that says 'yep I sing at work and you caught me'.Maybe a laugh will move things on, maybe he will laugh with you and say something.

Oh man, I don't think I could even begin to explain all the resons why I'm so scared, but I think the biggest fear at the moment is worrying about how we can communicate.

I know he's shy because a lot of people don't understand him, so I don't want to be just another one. I can only imagine how frustrating it is for him.

I just did a search online for french/english translators and I found some really cool talking ones, which I could leave in my car.
That way, all we would have to do is type in what we want to say and it'll say it in the language you want. Pretty cool, eh :-)

Ok, so here's my plan. I'm going to get me a translator and show up at the pub he frequents one night. I'll walk in with it in my purse, sit at the bar and order myself a corona.
If he's at the bar, I'll give him that look and little smile I always give him and before I lift my beer to my lips, I'll look at him, lift the bottle as if to say "cheers" and I'll take my first drink.
A little alcohol has a way of giving people the courage to do what they normally wouldn't have the guts to do and I'd almost be willing to bet that he'd buy my next beer and be sitting beside me in no time ;-)

Yeah, but I wouldn't want him to think I was laughing at him.

I know I won't be able to understand him and he knows it too, so that's why I truly need some type of translator to help us out.
It would be sooooooooooooooooooo frustrating for both of his if I can't understand him.
I don't want to see him struggle to try to get me to understand and I know he doesn't want me to see that either.
He seems like a proud man and I'm sure he's already frustrated enough with trying to communicate with people around here.

Being left handed, I am exceptionally good at visualising stuff. I've already worked through the honeymoon night, and am now onto the third day.......

You stand and brush the sand off your bikini....he lays back and admires your ladybumps.
You throw back your hair.....he takes his off and hides it under the beach towel.

As the sun sets, you both run along the shoreline......the souvenir sellers in hot persuit....

That made me laugh out loud!!

Why not walk up to him with a french/english phrase book and attempt to say something.Itl show that you are making the first move and an effort with the language barrier.
Getting him to buy you drinks is all well and good but yuo are still gona have to talk at some point.

Yeah, but if I have a traslator, we could at least communicate while we teach eachother our languages.

As it stands right now, because of the language barrier, we can't talk at all.
I have a french/english dictionary, but it doesn't help if you can't read french.
