Still trying to change name on Profile. It tells me Profile has been updated, but keeps going back to "Visitor." I tried logging out & logging back in as "Viz," but it doesn't recognize that name. Any clues?

You can't change your name on a2k, viz. Unless you ask the assistance of one of the moderators. You could try asking for help under the help forum. But you don't have to change it. We'll all just call you whatever we please anyway. :-)

If its good enough for Del Boy its good enough for me !

(note to our American and Ozzie friends-Del Boy is a fictional comic character from one of the longest running and funniest comedy sit-coms in the UK- " Only fools and Horses " , Del's favourite tipple is a cocktail with at least 3 or 4 small umbrellas and half a wheelbarrow full of fruit in the glass)

I wish we could get some of the BBC TV shows here.... There was a show called "One Man And His Dog" that I really really wanted to see.... don't believe it's still running.?.?.? It probably wasn't too popular, unless you had a Border Collie or sheep....

<slapping palm of hand to forehead> Dys, I HAVE read Brautigan!! I didn't put his name together with "Confederate General from Big Sur".... I'm loving the poetry... "chosen by beauty... to the stars"... that was great!!

San Francisco, next April?? Great... I love San Francisco!!

I had originally backed off from the Memorial Day gathering, because we were scheduled to be at an Agility trial.... actually, we're still scheduled.... turns out there's two trials that weekend... <cue music> "how can you be in two places at once, when you're really no where at all".... TeeHee....

I need to schedule Something for a vacation this year.... I'd love to take Jack for a long stay at the ocean or up in the mountains or out to the San Juan Islands.... maybe a jaunt up to Canada....

For now, the comfy cozy couches of Lola's are perfect!!

Woof! (translated: I love Lola because she lets me get up on the couch!)

One of the longest-running sit-coms, here in the US, is "Friends"... do you get that show in the UK??

Very Happy

A party? For me??? Oh, all of you are so sweet!

Bring that fruit tray and put it right here in front of me, Withers. I skipped lunch today and I'm famished. Yes, I'll have some champagne too, just no fruit in the glass. Alright everyone, stick a paper umbrella behind your ear and raise your glasses...a toast!

To old friends and new friends, and especially to our gracious hostess, Lola, who makes us all feel so welcome here!...

Cheers, Viz. A fine addition to Lola's Salon.

What say we ply hiama with bubbly and have our way with him later--do you think his horn needs a little trimming?

The salon is filled with handsome men. Dys also speaks French, making him the most irresistable cowboy on earth. Oldandknew, or John, is the most delightful Brit, with a great sense of humor, a cockney vocabulary that will make you blush and he's cute! Of course, we already know about hiama! What's not to love when your in the mood for a good time?

And the women! Extraordinarily talented, independent, animal loving (of all kinds), smart and possessed of skills that are rare, indeed.

Oh there are others, many fine examples of men and women who don't happen to be here tonight. You have so much to look forward to that you should be busy for at least the next week.

Diane, plying Hiama with bubbly does sound like fun, but I have a better idea. (whispers in Diane's ear...let's go in the kitchen, we don't want him to hear this.....)

(5 minutes later, giggling & laugher heard coming from kitchen)

Okay, we're back now! Lola, you must tell me who this "Wassau" is, and where is this darling Cafe 101 you speak of so often?.....

(Diane & Portentia still giggling...)

Cafe 101 is around the corner and down the street at Bleecker and MacDougall Streets. Here's the link:

Cafe 101 is my place on Abuzz. Now moved to a2k. We went 43 threads. Lots of characters there at the cafe. Wassau is the very colorful proprietor of Cafe 101 and a very good friend of mine.

Peace & Love,

I think we get all the US shows over here, Friends is on its 99th series over here yet-have you seen it ? My favourite is ER, I just love it.

One man and a dog is a lovely show and very popular over here, even with those who do not have dogs, it is showing re-runs and new series is due soon too.

Viz and Diane, I have my eye on you two, remember I have a spare horn so no tricks or else !

Just popping over to Cafe 101 to use the library Very Happy
