Put on your red dress baby,
'Cause we're going out to night.
You better wear some boxing gloves
In case a fool might wanna fight.
Put on your high-heel sneakers,
wear your wig hat on your head.
I'm pretty sure now baby
'Cause you know, you're gonna knock 'em dead.
Put on your high-heel sneakers,
Wear your wig hat on your head.
Splish splash, I was takin' a bath
All upon a Saturday night
Rub dub, I was relaxin' in the tub,
Thinkin' everything was alright
Da Da Da a knock on the door?,
I wrapped the towel around me and I opened the door
And, splish splash I jumped back in the bath
How was I to know there was a party goin on.
I was a splishin and asplashin
Movin and a groovin
Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a pony tail, hangin down
A wiggle and a walk
And a giggle and a talk
Makes the world go round
There's nothin in the world
Like a big eyed girl
Make me act so funny
Make me spend my money
Make me feel real loose
Like a long neck goose
Oh Baby! That's a what I like!
"And now folks," says Withers in his best DJ voice, "let's hear if for Joe Cocker.
Who knows what tomorrow brings.
In a world, few hearts survive.
All I know is the way i feel.
When it's real, I keep it alive.
The road is long, there are mountains in your way.
But we climb a step every day.
Love lift us up where we belong, where the eagles cry.
On a mountain high.
Love lift us up where we belong, far from the world below.
We know, up where the clear wind blow.
Some hang on to used to be.
Live their lives, looking behind.
All we have is here and now.
All our life, out there to find.
The road is long, there are mountains in our way,
But we climb them a step ev'ry day.
Love lift us up where we belong, where the eagles cry.
On a mountain high.
Love lift us up where we belong, far from the world.
We know, up where the clear winds blow.
Time goes by, no time to cry, life's you and I.
A live today.
Love lift us up where we belong, where the eagles cry.
On a mountain high.
Love lift us up where we belong, far from the world.
We know, where the clear winds blow.
Great party, guys, thanks.........
only mad dogs and englishmen
Bust a gut and, fry a repub bam-boozler!
That's right Bill, smash the repubs...
And Dys,
What's that next line? I can hear the cadence, but can't get the words.
Night all - Lola and Dys, keep stirring the political pot - there are issues to burn over there no matter the perception!
only mad dogs and englishmen
go out in the noon day sun
"Mad dogs and Englishmen" was a Joe Cocker america tour in the 70's
I remember well Mad Dogs and Englishmen
I'm in love with Joe Cocker, or haven't I told you?
BillW...........LOL

Saw Woodstock the film on television again last night, first time for zillions of years and Joe Cocker was singing (Boy did he look young and he had this fibrous stuff growing out of his skull-looked like HAIR) - With a little help from my friends- I know nostalgia's not what it used to be, I cried anyway, what the hell no one was watching !
Cheshire
Cheshire,
I am afraid Lola must have overheard my stage`whisper'. Oh, Yikes! I hope tht Lola was not hurt....or even believed that I think that sailors do not have a way with words! Colorful. I like anything that is full of color.
Cheshire, a taste for blood, she said....... Hmmm, I better not get on Lola's bad side. LOL. Unless of course my bad side is showing. Just think of the great brawl we could have. How is Lola's right hook? Not that I believe in violence. NEVER! <don't let it out that I have a glass jaw>
But then, why do so many people think that Three Stooges are funny....and I am not saying which Three Stooges. The three I am thinking about could...be...er...political <cough, cough> stooges. if falling all over is not funny???
Now where is that damn party. Let's start a conga line!
lola, the first time i saw Joe Cocker was at a place in Denver called "SkateLand" a roller rink that had mini concerts on wed and admission was $1.
Does anyone else recall that Rolling Stone awarded Joe 'Best Guitarist" one year?
