Hi P&L and Jack (yes, Jack those treats are still in the kitchen, I knew you'd be back) I did notice you'd be visiting with little k and I thought of the time we spent at Pike's Market as well. We had fun that day. I wanted to make it to Seattle to meet with the others, but it's not that kind of gathering and I didn't have enough time to include it in my schedule. I hope you all have fun! And I wish I could be there with you. Maybe next time.

Cobalt,

So sorry I missed you. I do understand about sleeping though and I do understand. You must have been exhausted! I'm glad to hear you're relaxing at BillW's. Keep us up on what's happening.

Hiama who seems to have been working since the beginning of time and misses his pals at the salon comes in to find no one is here.

He writes 43 love notes for his favourite ladies , hiding them all over the salon, down sofas and the like. He also pens a couple of notes for Blatham, Dyslexia and the guys, using his fountain pen made by that damn fine pen company George Parker of Janesville, Wisconsin started back in 1888 and more recently of England, he then asks Withers for a large nightcap and curls up by the fire and goes to sleep.

Lola, taking a break from her work decides to go down to the kitchen for some grapefruit juice with salt. (I know, I know, it's bad for me.) As she walks past the magazine rack, she sees a peice of paper tucked between a magazine and the wall. It's all folded up and seems to be a mystery. (Lola, being the incurable romantic that she was born to be.) It's a beautifully constructed love note from a friend. Lola smiles and kisses HIAMA on the forehead as he sleeps.

Eva removes her stilettos and tiptoes into the salon...it is very, very late.

She stops to smell the roses on the hall table and notices a slip of paper peeking out from under the vase. Tickled pink to learn that Hiama has returned, she asks Withers how long ago Hiama left. The oh-so-discreet butler simply points at the chair near the fire, where Hiama is still snoozing. Eva doesn't want to disturb him, he seems to be in the middle of a dream. So she pens a short note of her own, revising it several times as she always does. She folds the note, kisses it, and leaves it next to Hiama where he will find it when he wakes. Surely he will recognize her signature shade of coral lipstick...

Thoroughly worn out by the events of the day, Eva retires to her room for a nice, long snooze of her own....ooh, the down-filled duvet feels so wonderful..........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Cobalt rises from her usual spot somewhere south of the red velvet couch and cozy by the long brocaded curtains with their generous sweep along the walls, tumbled in drapes luxuoriously piled along the outer wall at the floorline. Yes, does seem strange to Eva, but then, she is rising as Cobalt is waking. And she doesn't know that Cobalt does like to tuck into cozy places, much as all resourcefull felines.

Cobalt yawns, and gratefully sees Withers coming to greet her with a nice cuppa joe and she is looking forward to the long ride home today. She turns and sees that all her friends that are in the Salon just now are peacefull and dreaming. She smiles, turns, gives Withers a quick squeeze of a hug and walks out the portico for last sips, taking in the beautiful morning's promises.

Things to ponder-Here are some things for you to think about.........For those who love the philosophy of hypocrisy and ambiguity.

Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.

One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor.....

Atheism is a non-prophet organization.

If man evolved from monkeys and apes, why do we still have monkeys and apes?

The main reason Santa is so jolly is because he knows where all the bad girls live.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me it would defeat the purpose.

What if there were no hypothetical questions?

If a deaf person swears, does his mother wash his hands with soap?

If someone with multiple personalities threatens to kill himself, is it considered a hostage situation?

Is there another word for synonym?

Where do forest rangers go to "get away from it all?"

What do you do when you see an endangered animal eating an endangered plant?

If a parsley farmer is sued, can they garnish his wages?

Would a fly without wings be called . . . a walk?

Why do they lock gas station bathrooms? Are they afraid someone will
clean them?

If a turtle doesn't have a shell, is he homeless or naked?

Can vegetarians eat animal crackers?

If the police arrest a mime, do they tell him he has the right to remain silent?

Why do they put Braille on the drive-through bank machines? (Somebody please explain THIS ONE to me) (I know there's a logical explanation, but it escapes me).

How do they get deer to cross the road only at those yellow road signs?

What was the best thing before sliced bread?

One nice thing about egotists: they don't talk about other people.

Does the Little Mermaid wear an algebra?

Do infants enjoy infancy as much as adults enjoy adultery?

Sumac enters the room, boldly, but with hesitation. "Oh, my" she says, "this is so long. Isn't it time it was split in half, or quarters?"

"I have been away so long, but will come back now that I am by myself and freed of torment and abuse". Taking a glass of champagne from Lola, sumac slips onto the floor beside Jack and gives him a big hug.

The kitties and I are in a new abode in a new state, and looking hopeful and happy. The veggies are growing nicely, as are the flowering plants. Who could ask for more?

Sumac, Glad to hear you and kitties are doing well. Please sit down here and tell us what you've been up to. Great to see you.

Cobalt, great pix. You look very proud of your sons and they of you.

BillW, if you try to fail and succeed, you have done both. Very funny. And I think infants do enjoy infancy, while they're infants. Some adults enjoy adultery and some don't, so impossible to say. Those are my two. Someone else answer the others please.

Gautum,

Keep lookin, Honey, that note must be here somewhere. Sit down here with me and we'll have a cup of tea. But don't be too noisy. Eva is sleeping and HIAMA remains comatose. I think his heart bled too much with all that love note writing. We may have to give him mouth to mouth. You wanna start? Or shall I?

Yawn' - stretch - 'Oh, hi everyone' Stretch - 'That was a good nap. My goodness, I really need a shave.'

'Hello, Lola, Ah, I see we have company. I'm Dan' looking in the direction of sumac, 'It's so nice to meet you. Nice kitty.'

'Hi Cobalt, great pictures! You are one proud Mom.'

BillW, pasta and antipasta joined would create an explosion of interstellar proportions. Please test off planet.
Also, I'm presently prone to hypothetical answers.
Trivia, in the Mel Brooks film, "Silent Movie" the one word spoken during the entire show was by Marcel Marceau who said "No". Now that has to grab ya.

'Withers, what is the story about all these scraps of paper?'

Lola, o fairest one, with the most fabulous pair of legs - with Hiama's newly found muscles, yr offer is very tempting - but being a ture gentleman as always, I'll say "Ladies First".

Am pretty hungover today - even though the only thing I drank was white wine - I guess it was because I drank too much of it Wink but then it could also be due to sparkling conversation, the riverside and a nice pleasant evening.

Can Withers get me a nice strong coffee with some cognac in it ? I think the best way to avoid hangovers is to stay drunk !

(Yawning...)

Oh, hello everyone! What a nice crowd we have for our Fourth of July party!

I see Jeffers and Fifi have laid out all the refreshments for us. Let's see...lemon meringue pie, strawberry shortcake, fruit salad, a large trifle...homemade ice cream....(looking around at others in the room)...Did we forget any of your favorites? Fifi can whip them up in an instant...she is just amazing, that girl. What else would everyone like?

Yes, Withers, please put the champagne on ice. That's nice...

What a way to meet everyone...I couldn't get a cab, it's pouring cats and rats and I'm soaked to the bone. My left shoe is coming unhinged and my hair is plastered to my scalp - and to make matters worse, I bought a new feather boa to impress everyone and it has molted all over everything and I am leaving a trail of white feathers all over the plush red carpet. I would love to join the party, if you will have me, perhaps someone could direct me to Fifi who I hear can work miracles....if I am not beyond help. Actually I clean up rather nicely and am in need of an apple martini to get through this.

Hi there Epiphany,

Welcome and of course as always, make yourself at home. Fifi can work wonders and there are bedrooms upstairs with baths if you want to relax for a while. So you have a boa.........we have another friend, although I haven't seen her in some time, who always has a boa, in season or out. ithers, an apple thingy for Epiphany.

Hi Phoenix, good to see you here.

BillW and Danon are at the barbarque, HIAMA is still sleeping.....I'm getting a little worried about him. Trevor's working but he's be back soon enough.

Gautum, I think I'll let HIAMA sleep. I don't want him to waken and be overcome.

Eva, Thank you for all these preparations. Let's go out by the pool for a while and let Withers do his thing. BillW and Danon are there and perhaps Epiphany and Phoenix will join us.

McTag,

I'm glad you've stopped by. Can Withers get anything for you? Need a bathing suit? There are some upstairs, if you like.

Wassau is expected later. Haven't seen that sweet man for some time now. I get too too busy.

<sitting down in lounge chair and taking tall glass of lemonaide from Withers, leaving back and signing>

Thanks, Withers, follow this with a champagne please. You're a dear.

Is the pool covered dear Lola, I'm afraid I've taken in as much H20 as I can hold. Withers, please make it an apple martini - it is a new thing I've discovered and can't seem to get enouth. It was Cosmopolitans for awhile but they became, well, too cosmopolitan....

The doorbell at Lola's rings. Eva happens to be right at the front door. She opens it.
There is this scrawny Gothboy standing there looking, like all Goths do, a little frightened.
Eva can't invite him in, of course. He just wouldn't fit in.
But the Gothkid doesn't ask to come in. He simply hands Eva a scrap of paper, nods and walks down the steps.
Eva closes the door, unfolds the paper and reads this:
"What a Bunch of Pompous Asses."
