I am not having a problem (cross my fingers) but a friend of mine asked me for my thoughts on the subject...It got me to thinking why not get others ideas as well....

What really happens at these places. Why do men feel women should just accept this as normal man behavior....Even on the occasion....

Men, why do you go to them, is it a sexual thing?

There are other places a guy can go to relax with his buddies...I just don't get it...

Thoughts???

I feel the same way you do about it.

Well, the actors wouldn't be trying to sit in my lap at $20 a minute either.

On the other hand, "King Leer" might just be a lot more entertaining.

Okay, it was an awful pun. But you want to laugh, admit it!

This stood out to me. These sort of behavior seems so... primal.

The instinct to procreate is our second strongest, after survival. The whole strip-club deal is apparently unreasonable and just a bit silly.

Situations like these happen when men (You've got to admit that this is mainly a boys thing) let their instincts override common sense.

It obviously doesn't make sense that anyone would be foolish enough to give up their hard-earned cash to *look* at something. But these places thrive.

We're more like animals than we'd care to admit.

Imagine the possibilities in advertisement -

Eat and see meat! This could really get ugly.

The thing I love about Texas is that they refer to this strip joints as Gentlemen's Clubs - like that makes it o-k.

I thought a gentleman's club was where you went to read the London Times with a snifter of brandy and a good cigar...

I think strip clubs are just fine. If someone want to indulge in a harmless fantasy who I am to judge? Since both parties are there of their own free will, and the women get well remunerates I fully disagree that it is in any way insulting and degrading. I feel exactly the same was about prostitution. I have been a musician for many years and have often played in the lounge of strip clubs and hence have met lots of strippers. They just like anybody else.

Woman, by the way, have a whole series of fantasies which are not always shared by men to the same degree, not the least of which are:

1) the idealized romanticized perfect life long relationship
2) greater emphasis on makeup, and hair, and finger nails, and perfume and clothing

I am not denigrating female or male fantasies or suggesting any kind of fantasy is better or worse than any other.

I guess it's just my week to be contrary...

I don't have any problem with strip clubs. For the most part, I don't think they're offensive or demeaning at all. I'm sure that they're are some funky nasty ones out there but I think there are some nice ones too.

I've known some girls who have worked as strippers and they are nice, normal girls who talk about their jobs in the same way I talk about my job and you probably talk about your job. They aren't whores and they aren't prostitutes.

As to the whole "pay to see" question -- pornography is a huge pay to see market. Most porn is much less "classy" than a strip club.

Naked women are pretty.

Sometimes they come to my studio to be photographed.

(Eat yer hearts out fellas.)

And no, I've never been a stripper. But I could have been!

Good point, Eryemil . . . them paintings will be there for ages--but that young gal's boobs and ass are heading south in a few years, so oglers need to get on the stick and get a good, longer gander before it all sags . . .
