It's a serious situation and I hope the guy is going to be alright. This type of accident is one that all bird hunters fear, myself included.
I did get a kick out of Jay Leno. "When people found out Cheney shot a lawyer, his popularity shot up to 92%".
Yeah, the jokes about shooting lawyers are heelarious.

Not really. But I've noticed that you tend to draw attention to the issue of gun ownership even in threads that have nothing to do with guns. So I expected you to be a major presence in this thread. But you were on the road, so I understand your absence...
I replied, and I never defended Cheney either. Even if the other guy was out of position, which he was, the responsibility lies with the shooter.
Still, I think OBL is ROTDFL.

Spin spin spin. Only in America would all the news drop the word shot and use the word peppered to imply that this was a non lethal event. The site at findlaw displays the accident report. He was shot in the face, neck and sholder with #7 1/2 birdshot at 30 yards. fron a 28 gague shotgun. He is lucky not to be dead as the woundes are close to his neck. He went into intensive care.
What a croc of **** the news media is.
Also note accident on 2/11/06 Date on report is 2/13/06. They must have tried to cover it up.
A man as old as the victim could well be sent home in seeming good health. But, this could all tip his health for the worse over the next six months. He's what? 78? Don't be surprised if he doesn't live too long after it's supposedly over.
