I played baseball when I was younger and everyone either used chewing tobacco or snuff. Don't know why, I guess we thought it was cool.

Anyway, when I finally quit smoking, I used Skoal to ease the cravings. I never liked the stuff, so it was easy to give up once the need for a smoke subsided.

Guatam - Are you smoking because there will be a lot of folks smoking in India when you visit? One time Mr. P & I began to smoke on the plane ride up to Alaska. We knew we'd be starting to smoke as soon as we got there. Shocked Remember smoking in airplanes?

The habit/addiction wouldn't be so awful if you could limit yourself to one pack a week. But it never works like that. At least for me, it would be 1/2 a pack in a day and a full pack within the week.

How are you doing Rae? Holding steady?

<faints after being kissed by eva>

It restarted in the typical restarting cliche'd fashion.

Lots of booze, a bar full of smoke, and being snogged by an attractive man who offered me a smoke afterwards (after snogging Smile - cause it did not go beyond snogging)

Does anyone have any ideas how to quit smoking pot? Apart from not buying any, as my friend advised...

Funnily enuff, I gave up pot (which I smoked in college though rarely) pretty easily, but them damn ciggies are another story !!

Do u get physical cravings for pot - or you just use it for recreation ?

There are no physical cravings as such, but there are mental ones. It's psychologically addictive in the same way that some people are addicted to chocolate or masturbating. I like doing it & it's cheaper than booze. I've smoked most days for the last 8 years, although I have been 'clean' for a couple of periods totalling about 2 years during that time. It started as recreation and became a way of life. A bit like Cheech & Chong!

Graham - I think one of the best places to start with any change is figuring out why you want to make the change.
