Giving up pot? Don't get me started.....
At least start a new thread about it.
Don't do it here. Please.
Stopped smoking (down from 30+ to zero) last Friday, when entering the plane to the UK, without any difficulty.
I do know that I could start quite easily. And that I would smoke just one or two, but the 30+ cigarettes as before.
Because this happened years ago in a very similar way.
It's really quite easy for me, because I don't drink since more than 20 years (alcoholic). (It's not a very scientific theory, but I think, somewhere in deep twists of my brains is marked: 'one physical addiction is enough!')
Stopping smoking pot is in theory the same procedure as stopping any other addiction, but surely should be discussed differently, especially, when the creator of this thread - Rae- wants it.
Congratulations, Walter! And thanks.
Day 21.
Rae starts week 4, smoke free. Well, direct smoke free. Indirect, well, I'm still doing that many years later. Good work, Rae.
Rae, that's wonderful!
Yay Walter, too!
Rae
I agree with your son ... Wait at least 5 years!
BUT ... If you're anything like me (an all or nothing girl) best not to try it to see if you can manage it .. Just think, you could have to go through all of this again!
Rae's son is a very wise young man.
Beth ~ thank you. So much.
My kid is awesome. He's going to accomplish so much in his life. He WILL BE president during my lifetime and HE WILL change the world.
I have no doubt.
Rae
I think it's great what you have done!
I don't think, you can be a little bit pregnant. So either I smoke or don't. I'd tried "the one cigarette a day"-thing twice. Ended up with going back to heavy smoking (= my "normal") every time shortly after.
(I do know, why I don't try that with drinks  )
Glad to hear you have no regrets, Rae!
20 days from today i join ranks with Rae
You can do it, sir. And you'll have all the support I've received from our friends on A2K.
I'm right here with ya, man.
Dys, what's 20 days from today? Is that your deadline or I should say "Lifeline"?
I'm with you msolga, I can't do the weaning thing, just got to cut it off!
I can remember dreaming I was smoking, this was after I had quit, and I still do at times. It's so real, I was terribly disappointed with myself when I woke up, for giving in to the cravings.
I also knew when I quit I was NEVER going to smoke again!
Way to go my Rae, I am so happy for you!
That's great news, dys!
you'll have more time for this
wonderful stuff then !
