Ah, nothing really, husker, here you just rant about the job, colleagues, bosses, customers, and other annoying circumstances...

OMG!!! I just read through the 10 pages - I laughed and bout cryed. I guess it would kill you to know I actually love my job, somedays I feel guilty liking it!!! Some folks think I'm the bas'turd and others think I'm a hero with a new religion of accountability.
Go figure. My boss and I flip each off multiple times a day just cause we loves each other (plutonic way). Some jealous folks would like to say I'm into kiss-azzies but that's so far from the truth.

Well it's always a lot of fun when the beancounters gotta tell the sales folk how to sell and close a deal, I was just talking to a place in Germany yesterday (Uhingen). Yea sure loads of fun and in about an hour I'll be talking to people in Mexico City.

I want to exchange my boss with any of your bosses. My boss is very negligent, she will let me postpone things for hours, days, months, encourages me at procrastination and goes out of her way justifying any nonsense i do as useful. Though we do have a good time. hmmm, that sounds schizophrenic, 'tis I myself that is my boss. I need someone with a timer and a short whip to crack above my head, I long for deadlines that I would actually feel obliged to keep!

Is there any way to turn it into a more stressful event -- like find some university library in another city or country with a lot of useful material, then go there and give yourself, say, five days to blast through it all? (not knowing what you are dissertating/disserting/dissertationing about)

ugh, i hate libraries, i'd be out of there in half an hour. i need solitude to work. and a deadline. but if it is given to me by myself,it is so easy to disregard. PLEEASE give me a deadline to finish my first chapter by next monday, pleeeeaseeee!

I think I may have given the wrong impression. I LOVE my job, but sometimes I just need to let off some steam.

My direct boss is awesome. Her boss, whom I also refer to as "the boss" is someone whom I followed from my former company; I've worked for him in some capacity for about thirteen years. there are very few rants I can't have at work, but I needed to rant, so I came here.

And, my goodness, didn't you folks all have a bit of fun as I took a day off from A2K. Very Happy

My boss is one of those people who seems to know just by instinct whether you need a kick in the ass or a bit of encouragement. She knows her stuff but isn't afraid to admit when she's clueless. We've learned a lot from each other. Too few people in retail management are willing to teach and/or learn. They expect you to just absorb on your own. It doesn't matter how self motivated a person is. If one doesn't necessarily know which questions to ask, how can those questions be answered? She's the first boss I've had who's taken time to teach me both the questions and the answers. She's helped me to become better at my job. I was on the verge of giving my notice (I had already typed up my letter of resignation) when she became my supervisor. Instead I decided to stick it out for a few months and see what happened. that was about a year and a half ago.
