Yay patiodog!! So you get to have an actual vacation for a bit there? I understand that driving 4,000 miles is not exactly funfunfun, but will you have some time before then? When do classes start? Are you planning to work, as well, or full-time student? (If the former, I could actually maybe be of use beyond telling you to get thee to Babcock Hall for some kick-ass ice cream.)

5000, but who's counting? Won't be leaving here until the end of the month, and will be spending a whole bunch of time volunteering in a vet hospital at the beginning of August, packing and preparing at night, and then departing almost immediately. So, no break.

Things start up beginning of September, but I've got to take placement tests and get transfer credit evaluated and all of that crap in the three days or so I'll have in Madison before they do. Assume I will be working at some point, though I'm not sure where. A lot depends on what our rent turns out to be like. Either way it'll be a full-time schedule as long as I can find some spaces in the classes I need. The continuing folks have pretty much filled them up at this point. Everything is very much in the air right now, though we have a couple of good leads on apartments and a less-good one that is pretty much guaranteed if we need to fall back on it.

So, where the hell is Rae, anwyay?

Right back atchya, Guatam!

Feeling more relieved than anything, ehBeth. This job had pretty much sucked the life out of me a long time ago.

On to better things for me!

I'll tell ya the truth, Rae. The happiest I ever was, was when I was laid off from a company that was going bankrupt. The stress of waiting for my turn to get the news just about did me in. I was lucky in that I got a good package, but I was soooooooo happy. Neighbours approached me to find out why I was glowing, after I got the news.

I hope you can get things going on a better track with a stronger company, soooooooooooon. But not so soon that you can't take a 72 hour breather.

Be well.

Congratulations, Rae, and good luck. I've only been let go once, and that was on my second day of what was going to be a crap job, I could already tell -- and I was so happy. I can imagine how gleeful you must be, even out of a job for the time being. Cheers!
