Cabrera, the first Triple Crown winner in 45 years, won the AL MVP by receiving 22 of 28
first-place votes and 362 points from a panel of Baseball Writers' Association of America.
He easily beat Trout, who had six firsts and 281 points.
Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre finished third with 210 points, followed by
New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano (149). Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton
finished fifth.
I don't get the Darvish - Iwakuma vote. Either I have a pro- Latin tendency or they decided to be pro-Japanese this year.
Hey, but I made the trifecta for the NL!
Freudian slip.
I've always called him McClutchen.
It's such a difficult last name.

@fbaezer,
fbaezer, you nailed it when you wrote:
ROY
AL
1. José Abreu
2. Matt Shoemaker
3. Delin Betances
Clearly the AL crop was much better than the NL's.
Quote:
José Abreu is the unanimous winner of the American League Rookie of the Year Award.
Los Angeles Angels right-hander Matt Shoemaker and New York Yankees reliever Dellin Betances
finished second and third, respectively, in the voting conducted by the BWAA, with Abreu earning
all 30 first-place votes
NL
1. Billy Hamilton
2. Jacob deGrom
3. Kolten Wong
Quote:
New York Mets right-hander Jacob deGrom is the winner of the National League Rookie of the Year Award.
DeGrom received 26 of 30 first-place votes. Cincinnati Reds center fielder Billy Hamilton and St. Louis
Cardinals second baseman Kolten Wong finished second and third, respectively, in the voting conducted by the BWAA.
