229.6

This is really incremental loss, but I'm eating well, feel satisfied and am in no hurry.

Grapefruit and two scrambled eggs for breakfast with this peach and chipolte pepper salsa that I love.

Yesterday, I had a plain burger and tomatos plate for lunch and some sushi (Salmon roll, spicy white fish roll) with a drink for dinner.

Going to cut back on somethings this week and see if I can do better than one pound.

Still no hurry.

Joe (I'm glad this scale has tenths of pounds) Nation

Joe--

I think a scale with tenths of pounds would be a great weight upon my ego. With the old fashioned somewhat imprecise scale I can say "128--and a hair under" which makes 127 a glorious milestone.

Off to the exercycle.

ugh. I ate it all, drank it all, and now I weigh it all. Every morsel and drop seemed worth it at the time. I'll put in two more days of 1100 and then move up to 1400 on Wednesday instead of today.

4 mile walk outside this morning followed by chest and back exercises.

I'm oozing virtue and optimism. This morning my scales cooed, "128". Granted most of that loss is water weight, but any loss is ego boosting.

Losing two pounds every week would be marvelous, but I'll settle for a pound, pound-and-a-half.

Unfortunately, I feel a plateau coming on....

Noddy, it always feels good when the middle digit drops down and you actually get to stay there for a while, doesn't it? Congrats on being and staying in the '2's. I'm looking forward to the '6's myself. Satisfaction comes in the tens place.

In response to your question about the light box. We have one because Mr B has a very difficult time in the winter. Young miss thinks it takes too much effort to sit at his desk in the morning to use it (grumble, grumble).

J_B--

All my child raising experience is with boys, but I have had Mothers of Daughters inform me that the first delight of grandparenthood is to hear one's daughter bitching about spending the entire nine months being pregnant--no short cuts, no time off....

Of course there are the conventional tender, gooey feelings, but mothers of mothers-to-be are human, too.

You will both survive. Hold your dominion.

Cranked out five miles at lunch.
Avoided candy being offered.

I'll find out. I'm coming up on three score this year and will schedule a
visit with my doctor as part of the celebration. Last time I availed myself
of his services, I wound up watching a tour of my colon on a TV monitor
and ultimately being forbidden popcorn and peanuts. Hence, I prefer to
space these little get-togethers out.

Hello all you dedicated dieters. I haven't been here for months, but I started the Atkins Diet two days ago and want to stay around for the good company.

Dys and I are going to Europe in late April/early May. I DON"T want to meet KP, McT, the Prince, et al at my current weight. Damn, I've shrunk an inch, although, luckily, I've stayed the same height for ten years now. Ah, to be six feet tall, not 5'1".

After reading back a few pages, I find that all of you have inspired me. What a bunch of strong, beautiful and disciplined losers. LOL.

Atkins is the only diet I can stay on for months at a time. Wish me luck--I need it!!

I believe 100% that eating the right things can make people slimmer and healthy and feel great but I CANNOT imagine going through life not eating the things I like.
By that i mean the fish and chips, pizza, takeaways, chocolate bars, crisps.
Im sure the feeling eating healthily will make me shy away from the bad stuff but the only thing keeping me going is knowing I can treat myself with something naughty.

This is part of the nasty will power thing that I seem to lack!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, just had to rant and rave and get that out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The secret jargon is....[BPortion Control[/B]

The Greeks said it more elegantly: "Moderation in all Things."

If you eat more calories than you burn off, you gain weight.

If you eat as many calories as you burn, your weight is stable.

If you eat fewer calories than you burn, you will lose weight.

Eat one piece of pizza--not two, not three, not half a pie.

Or eat two pieces of pizza and have a large vegetable salad for your next meal.

Or eat a small vegetable salad to fill you up so you are content with one piece of pizza.

Earlier on this thread--and I wish I could remember who to credit--a sensible someone pointed out that the stomach stapling operation reduces the amount you can eat at once to a half cup or so.

Therefore if you shrink your stomach by eating only a half cup to a cup of food at a time you have all the benefits of surgery without any danger of complications.

What does your pedometer say? Each step burns a calorie.

I'm going out today to a "N'Oleans Mardi Gras Lunch". Wish me restraint.

Im vibing you the power of restraint.

You speak sense, its just so difficult.
I seem to be one of those people who sees food as a comfort.
I need to treat myself and food is a cheap and easy treat.

But Im slowly getting there.I chopped up my carrots yesterday.Realised I wasnt eating them because I hadnt prepared them.So they are in bite size chunks in the fridge ready for me to nibble on.
I have apples for pudding.Managed to jetison a whole packet of raisons over the living room floor when I was trying to open them.Picking them all up was exercise!

G'morning all,

I'm still reeling from Sunday's fest and feast. Although I don't have to worry about the remaining snacks calling me from the cupboard. All open bags of chips and snacks have been consumed Embarrassed . I think of it as saving my daughters from eating too much junk food - it's my parental duty; yeah, that's it, I suffer on their behalf. I need lots of water today to help detox.

I attempted an outdoor walk this morning but last night's drizzle became this morning's black ice. Treacherous and futile, I gave up after two miles. I'll do extra exercises to make up the difference.

I have a dinner out on Sunday scheduled but after that I'm in the clear until Easter.

Let's get refocussed!
