Obviously the Olympics were infectious. Hold your dominion.

Watching those athletes makes me wonder...
That's a human body and this is a human body. Whats wrong with this picture?

haha, yes those human bodies are jaw dropping. some are monstrous though and inspire my want of chocolate rather than a healthy envy and desire to move.

It is amazing what overtraining a particular part of the body can do. I myself have always managed to avoid the hazards of overtraining.

Well, I broke my fast today, and feel tiptop. Lost about 4 kg but that isn't necessarily the point; feel very clean and able to exist on just raw fruit and veg for another 2 days until I have to eat whatever they give you on trains to Laos. Thai fruit is amazing!

And the next day, even better, and still losing weight - now quite content with small helpings (the big secret) of lovely food. Long may this continue...

Has anyone tried the new low carb milk put out by Hood. Milk is pretty much a no no on the Atkins, and I love milk.

Joe--

Way to go. Maintaining is no bad thing when most other mammals are fattening for the winter fasting.

Keep holding.

I've been eating more sensibly (no snacks) and exercising (bike riding) recently and have lost 5 kilos (11lbs).

Woohoo!
Went canoeing on the Concord River at lunch with my old paddling partner. Glorious day for it, saw ducks, turtles and a great blue heron. Best of all, the old rotator cuff doesn't hurt too bad. Great way to spend some calories.

George--

Congratulations to you and to your rotor cuff.

I'm back from a three day jaunt to NYC and full of the best intentions....the sort that could turn into paving stones if I procrastinate.

Forward!

If Karma is kind I'll be back in the Big Apple at the end of October for the Village Halloween Parade.....

The walls between the worlds will be very thin and we shall see what we shall see.

Good on you, Joe! Me, trying to keep to raw fruit and veg where possible, though back in autumnal England it isn't so appealing as in Laos and Thailand...
they do seem to keep the energy levels up however!!

Imagine waking up one morning, putting on yr favorite pair of jeans - only to discover that they no longer fit. Or standing in the shower, and looking down - to discover that yr toes have disappeared, yr paunch prevents you from seeing them.

That is exactly what had been happening. I've been at a 34 waist for a few years now, and that was becoming too tight. I had to do something about it.

Back in the day about fifteen years ago I used to be into cycling and running, I even did a few duathlons and a couple of International 15K runs.

But then I burned out on the whole thing, especially the cycling and I left it for all those years. Meanwhile, I had hooked up with a group of friends whose main form of entertainment and general pursuit in life was partying hard. So that became a large part of my lifestyle. I even started smoking. When I began waking up in the morning with lungs that would ache trying to take a deep breath, it scared the sh#t out of me, and I stopped smoking.

I'm about 6'1" and had reached a maximum of 200 pounds consisting mostly of gut.

Last December I said to myself, "that's it; I'm getting another bike like I've been saying for the past upteenth years," and got a mountain bike.

A few months after that I got a road bike. A professional quality road racer, and I've been cycling pretty regularly since then.

I'm now down to 180 pounds, a 34 waist is a bit loose on me, and my gut is practically gone. I can see my toes again.
