skivvies? don't like the sound of that, sounds too invasive, whatever it is.

ok, here it is. i have one month before i go home, that dreaded eastern european place, where all girls are thin and dress to work/school as if they went to a night club. must get and stay on a diet of sorts. this is day one. not sure how to go about it - not willing to do atkins again, although it worked. maybe i'll cut carbs down and just generally stay off bad foods, snacks, sweets? any help out there? no problem with a workout- i do a lot of that, i want to get smaller. hmmm. that may mean working out differently, to get less bulky, but no. i like that. a lot. aaaaarhg, i'll just try to be 'good' and see what happens.
and staying off skivvies. forever.

Cockadoodle-doo.

I've adjusted to the change in meds. During June my weight crept up from 122 to 128, but in the last week I've lost four pounds and I'm down to 124. I'm afraid the other two pounds may be Real Fat as opposed to Water Weight. I felt very sorry for myself in mayonnaise season.

I'm now using only one crutch which is good for both my morale and my metabolism.

By the end of the summer....

Too many celebrations of late (though all for good things)! Weight is creeping back up.
But 4.7 miles at lunch and a pickup soccer game tonight should help right the ship.

Plan: lose at least 10-20 pounds (that's already a bit vague isn't it?) during the summer (if not during the summer, then when?) most of it during july, preferably. start: just bought two dresses that fit me just so-so. but will look fabulous once the weight is off. that will need some drastic adjustment and no cheating, not even when not under supervision of my man, who has been asked for support. salad for dinner, after jogging. will weigh in in the morning. oh sigh. this time it's for real. who else is dieting? i want a partner to commiserate with!

Clary--

Of course, you're welcome. Some people get very specific about pounds lost (and pounds to go) and some don't. Some people are mad for exercise and some of us would rather not (I'm in column "B"). Some people record only triumphs and others focus on their lapses.

I'm sure you can fit in.

Dag~

I too am dieting. I'm not a strict Atkins guy, but I am cutting way back on carbs, mostly focussing on eliminating white flour and sugar.

Somehow the concept of salad-as-meal eludes me. Salad is what you nibble on while waiting for your meal.

Jogging is going well. My goal for this week is 22 miles. I've done 14 so far.

The coming weekend is fraught with peril: I'm going up to Montreal to meet with some old classmates.

YEAH! Salad is for goats! and all those healthy peoply. I can't deal with that. Besides, I am a serious carnivor. I need meat at least a 3-4 times a week or else I have withdrawal syndroms. And I dislike chicken, the chicked industry creeps me out more than any other. Try to stick to free range everything, but that gets expensive. At least i learnt to accept fish and scallops and shrimp as meat also - that took awhile. When i mean salad, i mean with a side of shrimp or fish, otherwise it ain't a meal. I am essentially going to try the same. Cut carbs and exercise even more. we'll see where i get.

You sound like a natural for low-carb 'O'blood type meat and veg, Dag. Agree totally about the chicken industry. Freerange chicken/eggs or nothing.
Exercise sucks, too. 3 sessions of aquaerobics a week does me fine. I hate walking - everyone else here walks, out on Dartmoor, sploshing through streams, up huge hills, ankle-twisting paths through the heather. The only nice walking country is a golf course and then some draggy man wants to play golf at the same time.
Walking in cities is quite nice. More to look at.
I'm going for a fast in September. A week with just herbs and fruit juice, and it really cleans you out, you feel great. And it's in Thailand on the beach. Smile
