I don't think I'd last two days!

You'd be surprised; you have drinks of psyllium which fills you up and wafts everything through and out...

I'd be nervous about sharing the Jacuzzi.

They don't have a jacuzzi. It's just a bath - guess where the bubbles come from? Shocked

Clary, that sounds dangerous. If not physically to you, very possibly to your immediate environs. I know I'd be kranky as hell, that's for sure! I am now, and I had sushi for lunch! Sure, the beach factor ameliorates things a bit...

Having dropped some pounds, I no longer have to be as intense (or sparse) about projecting my wishes and resolutions.

Folly, on the other hand, is always in season.

As of Sunday, I have lost 25.4 pounds. My pants are hanging off my hips and I had to buy shoes in one smaller size last week.

gleefully holding,

Joe

Joe, RESPECT!!

I have lost hundreds of pounds in my life but am probably larger than ever - at last weigh-in 180. With the help of this thread and lots of will power, topped off with a fast for a week, I'd like to lose 30 in the next 2 months. Do you think I can do it??

Parents gone - back to salads, low fat food and the gym...

Phew - I was almost abt to buy a new wardrobe, none of my old clothes fit me any more Sad (though it did not stop me from picking up 4 trousers and 3 shirts over the weekend)

Clary, it's good to see you. Yes, you can do it, with a little help from your friends. Although I don't check in very often, it is useful to see the progress of others and to offer encouragement to those who might be having a hard time.

Hard times for me. With the move Dys and I are making, the stress is causing me to eat without thinking. I keep going back and forth, eating late at night and suffering with an upset stomach or laying off, feeling good, then splurging again. Damn!

At least my blood sugar hasn't gone too high. When we are moved in and eating regularly again, I'm hoping that I will be able to exert more control over my appetite and need for all that comfort food.

Congratulations to all you success stories. I hope to join you fairly soon. No, I WILL join you fairly soon. No, I WILL JOIN you. NOW.

Do positive statements work or simply remind one of one's folly???

Joe-

Way to go! Presently if you don't get a new wardrobe, you'll be likely to offend public decency with spontaneous moonings.

Clary--

Fifteen pounds a month is a pound every other day. This seems a bit ambitious unless you do an incredible lot of exercise and some semi starvation (Note: the lastest research shows that semi-starvation actually stops weight loss because the body goes into famine mode.)

Most of us are eating less, moving more and losing slowly, gaining new habits as the pounds peel off.

Seven to ten pounds a month might be more realistic.

Gautam--

Do you really eat to shop? Or is it just that you love your mother and her cooking?

Diane--

Nervous nibbling is hell. I particularly hate the way I confound my own common sense. I know extra calories are not going to sooth my jangled nerves, but I swallow them anyway--and go for seconds.

George--

You fall off the wagon with more enthusiasm than most sinners can muster up. You have talent.

i am very successful with dieting. i can diet about 10 hours each day, and then, as a rule, something happens - one bbq party on saturday, one on sunday, then dinner out before movies yesterday...grrr. i try to be good, but life throws logs under my feet (slovakism?). today is the first full day that just may be successful to its end. Considering TrimSpa, although I don't want to be a wimp. Unless I hear raves about it. Dunno. Still have a month to do some grand progress. That spells a low carb diet and exercise for highest speed possible. Will report back if I succeed - I tend to post less when I fail...

Spot on, Noddy. Knowing what you are doing is harmful, yet doing it anyway is what causes most of us to go crazy! The house we are moving into is in a quiet neighborhood and walking will be easy. Both Dys and I are looking forward to more exercise.

George, Noddy's right. As long as you're going off the wagon, your kind of exuberance definitely makes the most of what could be a bad situation. Enjoy!!

Ran into work today - 51 minutes (probably 6 miles) and I feel great!

I'm feeling SO much better and fitter than I did last October when I started training/controlling my diet.

Actual weight loss isn't much more than it was in about February (i.e. 5kg/12lbs) but I'm much more muscled, so I'm not concerned - my waistline is shrinking! Still some way to go but my dominion is being very firmly held.

Anyone seen hiama?

Good luck to all of you slim(ming) and healthy people.

KP

Hiama is here and awaiting his OP on July 28th so good idea I did not enter The london KP !

If I convalesce quickly I might still make the September date-am disgustingly fit considering the restrictions on my posterior-so mainly swimming and core exercises.

Weight around 85 kilos-as for KP more muscled-I have a two year plan for the Tri that involves a really good winter before next year's races. Perhaps we can meet up for some mutual support as we had planned once I am in rude health again KP.

Joe, Noddy you are inspiring me-George keep up the running there is nothing like it-Shame on you Clary-walking and running are seriously religious experiences-hope you enjoy Thailand. What me jealous Twisted Evil
