Still alive, may try some gentle swimming tomorrow, still waiting for the problem to go away.

I still hope to do the Tri in September though might have to temper my aspirations.

Well done Noddy and Joe Very Happy

How is it going KP ?

Not bad! I managed to do lots of cycling last weekend. 2 hours at an average HR of 135 on Saturday - must mean I'm getting fitter.

Not lost much weight in the last couple of weeks - must be more disciplined.

I hope you do manage that Tri. You deserve the achievement of completing it, after all your hard training.

Holding Noddy, holding.

One thing I have been doing is to work on my core fitness which is one thing I can do.

Well done KP-I was up to 2 hours + on the bike -South Downs and flat mixture at a relaxed 17-18 mph, I can only dream now

I have a dream, this is roughly how it goes.

2004- The September Olympic Tri + maybe one or two later in the year events-run, ride or tri
2004 winter- ramp up training slowly using the rubric I have that I know works having tried it for a couple of weeks
2005- Early season Olympic followed by Ironman Sherborne in late August
2006- Ironman New Zealand or Ironman Kona

Back to only a couple of pounds away from target weight. These are going to be stubborn.

Podiatrist says I can accomodate my foot problems with "depth" shoes, padding, and recurring visits to get callous shaved down -- or surgery. I gotta think about this!

Dagmaraka--

You must feel much lighter--not only at losing the pounds, but at losing the unfairness of the universe.

Had to go get weighed for an insurance policy (have to know if you are going to keel over anytime soon) arrrgh, I know I am under 230 now but because I had to weigh in while dressed the scale was showing 236. SO I unloaded my keys, my walllet, my Palm, and I was still showing 233, but I say "It's just a number." smile and sit down.

Joe--

No machine understands you like your very own scales--unless the machine belongs to congenital liars. Proper scales automatically subtract clothes and liquid intake.

This moring I was 128. Very satisfactory--even if it was on my own scales.

Don't be disheartened - it's all about progress against your own benchmark: YOUR scales with no extra clothes. That's the point of comparison.

Go for it.

Joe--

I'm not sure whether you shame me or inspire me, but weight loss after a week of mild dissipation is a monumental achievement.

Hold your dominion.

The enlightened approach to my daily intake seems to be having unexpected effects. On Saturday a friend asked me why I seem to be glowing lately. My only guess - all that good salad and yogurt (and more eggs than usual) in my diet.

My clothes are generally fitting better, a few things got a bit loose, so I switched to slightly slightly smaller versions hanging out in my wardrobe.
