Embarrassed The bike remains in the storage Embarrassed I had to go downtown and get a new scanner yesterday and (insert several other lame excuses here) so you see I was much too busy. Laughing

Down some more this morning: 232.8 Shooting for ten pounds lost over two weeks and it hasn't been that hard.

Congratulations everyone on their efforts. It really makes a difference to me to hear how and what you are doing.

Much Love,

Joe

Ten pounds in two weeks! Magnificent!

Remember, rationalizations don't work on weekends. Can't you hear the soft hooting of the abandoned bicycle?

Hold your dominion.

Margo,

Do keep up my antipodean friend-I see the Doc on June 4th for a decision on the Op, I should be back in the pool in 2 to 3 weeks, back on the roads in 3-4 weeks and back on the bike probably never but maybe if I'm lucky in 3 months-still in time for the September Triathlon or even maybe a half Ironman in late August-we'll see Very Happy

George,

The wrist is sore from bike riding ?

I've never heard that one before Very Happy

The scales this morning showed me as just-a-hair under 132. I'm very smug--and re-inspired.

Last August I dismounted my bike by going over the handlebars
-- not recommended -- and smashed up my wrist. There's a
couple of metal plates in there and I never did get all the flexibility
back.

George, there's other ways of getting sore wrists from bicycling than Hiama's 'preferred' method. I used to teach long distance cycling, the leisurely, mosey down the road for eighty miles or so kind of cycling. Every once in a while someone would show up with a mountain bike Rolling Eyes , and take it out on an out and back fifty. You put your hands on the grips of a mountain bike and leave them there for four hours or so, and I guarantee, you will have sore wrists. On a road bike you can ride low, ride high, right inside out, ride on the edges----you get the idea.

Salad, yogurt, juice and cheese lunches continue.
I'm not going near the scales for a little while yet.
I need a little more of this slow and steady pace first.
Someone commented the other day that they'd never noticed that my face was oval - it seems that a bit of the roundness is melting.

slow and steady wins the race. gotta keep reminding myself.

Down another 1/2 this morning. I have to know everyday. Kind of like watching the stock market.

Have discovered the corner diner has a cheap lunch of tuna or salmon, boiles egg, tomato and plain salad. Good and filling too. And did I mention cheap?

Joe Nation--

I'm another fan of the daily weigh in--after all, had I done it earlier, I wouldn't be dieting now.

This morning I was just a hair under 132 and I know if I temper my desires that I may be two hairs under 132 tomorrow.

Proof of progress makes dieting easier.

I'm back for good, baby! Went to the gym 3 times last week, once this week, had a weekend gardening and housecleaning frenzy - about all day each. i am plenty sore, but determined. gave all chocolate to my man to keep at his work or give away, because i ain't eatin that no mo. grapefruit and piece of a dark bread toast for breakfast, mozarella cheese and tomatoes for lunch, fish and steamed spinach for dinner. not bad. not terrific either, but not bad. i will hold that dominion like there's no tomorrow!

Another salad, juice and yogurt lunch behind me. Tomato sauce and meatballs tonight. No pasta. Good thing I don't really like pasta.

The dogs are getting their regular walks again. Now to convince them they want longer walks - even in the rain! Very Happy
