You don't realize what kinds of habits you used to have till you are confronted by their absence.

Yesterday, one of the women in my office arrived with "the candy". About a month ago two or three mothers I work with were passing around lists and asking for contributions for the local school's candy drive. I handed her ten dollars and said " I don't want any candy just put this in the fund."
Apparently that is the definition, right up there with carrying a bucket of smoke up a hillside in a rainstorm, of an impossible task. One canNOT contribute and not get anything in return. So, she picked out some for me.
Wasn't that nice? And oh, no, she would not keep for herself, no no.

Awhile ago I would have eaten the whole thing on the way from lunch.

I put the giant, coconut cream filled, covered with dark chocolate, rabbit in my locker. It was there for over three hours.

Screaming.

It's now resting nicely at the bottom of a 55 gallon trash can.

Missing an ear, but still........

Oh, and down to 234.4 this morning. That almost ten pounds down.

Joe

Indeed! Tho I'm more concerned about the long-range effects of shoe-store exposure.

this is an anti-advertisement

I borrowed the grind danceclub aerobic workout.

this is not something a beginner to use

(although, I did sweat just trying to keep up and 'learn the groove" as they keep saying in that gawdawful video.

I'm trying zumba next. consists of a 30 minute beginners and an hour long advanced....

walking consistently two miles every saturday morning...have been working late nights at work, so no aerobics durng the week this past week & a half or so.

committed to doing 45-60 min of aerobics excercise at 5:00 a.m. in the morning - this tape was not a good way to start.

harumph

Oynxelle--

You obviously had yourself confused with a Lady of Leisure, someone who had time to keep in shape and was bored with her "normal" workout routine.

Very clever to borrow instead of buy.

Somewhere you'll find an aerobics fit. Hold your dominion.

KP, she's here till July <sigh> The only way I can work it off is by going back to gym - but when I reach home at 2000, it doesnt feel right to leave her alone again and go off......

Still at 234.4 this am. Chart is nearly flat for the week, but if I stick to the program I ought to be able to dump two more pounds by Sunday.

Maybe a long walk through the gardens of Fort Tyron.......

And I am going down to the basement to look at the old bike.....

It's brutal keeping your focus through plateau periods. I think the body takes time out every once in a while to recalculate equlibrium.

Last time I was on my bike was last August. I took a spill and smashed my wrist. I plan on taking my first ride since that this weekend. I'm probably going to look like 5-year-old who just graduated from training wheels.

First training session with my soccer munchkins is Wednesday. They'll run a little weight off me!

I was down a pound this AM.

Way to get back on, George! I've got about 50,000 miles of road biking under my saddle, with just a couple of crashes and bashes, the worst of which was a busted shoulder blade, but it sure feel good every time to get back on and back on the road. Since moving to the city, I haven't turned a crank, but that is going to change starting this afternoon.

I'm prepping my Carabella 13 1/2 speed and getting ready to ride. a s l o w ride. little bitty steps, lllll

First, I have to figure out a way out of this neighborhood that isn't straight up hill. Laughing

Gautam--

Does your mama's lunch come with a video camera? Must you eat every scrap?

Can you show her the shameful corner of your closet where you keep the glorious clothes you can no longer wear?

George--

Congratulations on that pound!

Joe Nation--

If the hills keep you from exercising, think about effortless losing weight when you're six feet under.

I've lost another Once Again Pound--one more to go before I'm back at the starting line.

Hold your dominions.

Let us know how the ride goes.
Last year I was able to cycle to work a few times in the good weather and longer days. I live about 12 miles from work and the last stretch is along the "Minuteman Bikeway" -- practically a gimmee.
Next month they're moving us to a new building that will be out of my range. Sigh.

G, a better idea would be to get her specs that show you as being HUGE so then she will try to keep you lean.

I saw the doc at the clinic today, she said that the offending swollen thingymagigs are getting smaller. So in about 2/3 weeks I may be able to engage in some mild exercise-operation decision postponed for 2 months until they see me again.

So all being well I may be able to contribute something other than words folks-though the bike is out for a long time yet I think-weight still 185 lbs -thats a slight decrease in 3 weeks with NO EXERCISE- what does that mean I wonder ?

Gautam--

Mothers are mothers. Still, unless she follows you to work and spoon feeds you your tiffin...

Obviously your dieting would be more successful if you could define and describe "old clothes that no longer fit". Still plutocrats...

Hiama--

Obviously your metabolism is still burning calories as if you were moving. You've replaced some fat with muscle and muscle--even muscle at rest--burns calories.

I'll keep my fingers crossed about l'operation. Meanwhile, hold your dominion.

It's almost yabba-dabba-doo time here at work as I post to A2K between bouts of banging my head against what passes for configuration management around here. But the weekend cometh.

Ah, the weekend! What opportunities for healthful exercise! What temptations to self-indulgence!

How will the dauntless denizens of A2K fare? Will they hold their dominions? Tune in for the the next installment of...

"As the Stomach Turns"
