Soz--

How do you feel this morning? The proof of the pudding.....

Remember how you feel this morning when the question comes up again.

Mac--

Roughly 15 pounds to go. Weight losing is a bit like running a marathon. The last hour is the most taxing.

You can do it.

MMS--

Welcome.

Buy the scale. Having a scale in the house means that you can't play Let's Pretend any more.

Your Alabama eating is probably triggered by homesickness. Also, the lack of wilderness meant less exercise. Can you start walking laps around that Industrial Park pool?

JPB--

You make a wonderful cheerleader.

Like crap. However, that's approximately how I felt the two previous mornings, too. Mornings are worst, gets better throughout the day, start crashing ~2 hours before bedtime, have a snore-y, stuffy, fitful night's sleep, and wake up feeling like crap.

So nothing conclusive.

Reporting that I've been very good for 7 days. No sweets, no alcohol, almost no carbs...mostly just veggies and fish or chicken. And vigorous exercise daily. I don't do scale....but my next goal are the grey pants...and then the blue and yellow checkered pants. I feel as if I was already thin

You might as well feel like virtuous crap.

Thats why I'm going to buy one, stop trying to ignore what I can't ignore anymore. Just be a big girl and get it overwith, cry...and do what I know I need to do. I mean lets face, I'm not getting skinnier with age...

It has been.

Being homesick.

Being stuck in this house.

Severe joint pain due to the wreck and injuries.

Homeschooling two boys that seem to thrive on eating....

I miss being outdoors, I miss our hectic baseball schedule where we were on the field 6 days out of the week, no one had time to eat.

I would not be inclined to recommend my weight loss plan to anyone.

It's a combination of Low-Carb/Atkins, loss of appetite due to extreme emotional stress, resumed smoking after 13 years, and anti-depressants.

That said, I'm 6'2". If I go by recommended BMI, I should be...hahahaha...between 148 and 194. Laughing

I'm actually shooting for about 190. If I got much below that, I'd look like a meth-head or something.

My plan from here is to replace the smoking with regular aerobic exercise (stair climber) and strength conditioning to build up muscle.

I will admit that I have been admiring myself in the mirror with my shirt off. I think with a moderate effort I could actually have a "ripped" look.

I don't need to be a Hulk Hogan or anything. I'd just like to look buff, if only for a little while, in my life. I'm 38 years-old and have never really looked fit. I have a pretty good shot at it now.

The original motivation is no longer important, jake. You've got a good looking plan now -- go for it.

Hit a new 2 year low today. Off for a big lunch to celebrate. Very Happy

Noddy, Thank you.

Congrats again to all who are doing well :-D

Welcome aboard MMS :-D

Noddy is right. You need a scale ASAP girl! I weigh myself every day, which is the only way I've ever been able to keep weight off.

I had trouble losing when I was home schooling as well. It's one of those sit down jobs and it's tough when you're cooking for the kids all day, without dipping into all the yummy stuff.

You are also recovering from the accident and it's hard to get moving when you've got pain.

First thing you need is that scale. Then you need a good diet plan and exercise as much as you can. Make an adventure out of it, as something you can do in your woodless town.

I found the scale to be the most helpful tool I had in losing and keeping it off, but cutting out my alcohol consumption didn't hurt either. My wine making days are over and after looking up to see how many calories were in that stuff, I'm glad they're over Cool

I did it mostly by counting calories. I had a site I went to (calorie count.com) which has all the listings of calories for everything you can think of and a log where you can log in your calories every time you eat. They even have a toolbar you can download that has a meter which tells you when you've consumed your calories for the day.
They have charts which tell you how many calories you need to consume daily, according to your height, weight, and bone stucture and you go by that.
It's a bit of a pain at first because you have to look up the calories for everything you eat, every time you eat and log it in your daily calorie intake log, but it gets easy in no time once you get to know how many calories things have.
I don't even use it anymore because I know how many calories are in everything I eat, but I sure as hell was glad to have that site to help me along.

Oh, and I lost over 100lbs twice in my life and both times were from counting calories. When I was young (13) I did it it with one of them little calorie counting books I got from out local super market.

And, of course, exercise helped as well.

Hop on the train and your new adventure MMS! I wish you the very best of luck and if I can lose 108 lbs, anyone can. You have more determination than I ever had, so I know you'll succeed :-D

YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!

Headed to get one tommorrow morning. I'll weigh, Cry loudly...then I'm leaving to go home for about 11 days, so I won't be on...but I'll weigh when I get back and post anything good. I can diet like a crazy person at home, I stay too busy to eat...

Yeahhh....mine think cooking is a class. My fault though, because I let them cook because we use the recipes as a form of a math lesson. Soo..they are getting a two fer' one there. Learning how to cook, and do fractions....

Yeahhh...those first steps out of bed are a killer in the morning. I gotta warm up slowly....

I don't know about the determination thingy right now, but I can't sit here and do this to myself, I swore I never would again...and I have.

Thank you, Thank you..........

Well, speaking of food.....I got boys to feed, and clothes to pack which will take me half the day. We pack like we are moving, its pitiful. We just don't take clothes, we take EVERYTHING! LOL (Guns, Bows, hunting clothes, regular clothes, household things we'll need. Its pathetic! I have to have a list to keep things lined out)

MMS--

You'll go home and be able to jump start your diet. Then when you get back to Alabama you'll have a start on resisting temptation.

Montana--

I'm not going to carry your suitcases.

Jake--

Remember what happened to the Marlboro Man.

Anti-depressants usually give people cravings for carbs--but you were able to harness your misery. Good.

I agree! I weigh myself every day and I have a spreadsheet set up in which I enter a weekly weight figure to track my loss/gain.

I also have an incentive in mind for when I reach my goal. I want to go skydiving. They charge an extra $80.00 for people over 200 lb. So if I make 190, I can go and afford the video option.

Yeah, I know what happened to Mr. Marlboro. I will beat the nicotine addiction. It's just something that came out of my ordeal last year (albeit largely self-induced ordeal).
I did get some cravings for sweets at first. I've been able to keep that at bay by buying lower-sugar dark chocolate bars and eating maybe 1/2 the serving size a day. I've found a brand called Endangered Species that has only 9 net carbs per serving. It is really good chocolate too.

There are weekends, and holidays in which I allow myself indulgence. You know: cookies, some cake, potatoes with the meal...I've found myself much better able to avoid over-doing it than I have in the past.

OK Miss J, it is going to be great and difficult for me on Monday as you are at a two year low and I am at a two year high. I am SO happy for you and hope it rubs off. I've done it before and WILL do it again.

Noddy-Pretending, ignoring, denying, I do that too and then I have to get dressed for some "event" and want to just stay home...

MMS, Let's get started!

Checking in. Still sick and on the meds. Still have little appetite. I haven't been to the studio for a week Confused

On the upside, I've lost over 5 pounds. I wouldn't recommend this method, but I'll take the progress. Three people at work stopped me today and told me they could tell I'd lost weight - and look good - from the back. Regrettably, from the front I'm a bit pale and glassy-eyed.

I'm hoping to be able to walk to the subway again by Monday.

Sorry you're still sick, ehBeth! That's a while now.

I've been whining about it but I'm really not that sick -- mostly just stuffy and a bit off. (Leaving water running, forgetting things, etc.)

Feel better soon.

I'm trying to figure out how many coughs equal a crunch, and see if I can manage a couple of real crunches again today. They had us up to 100 in the intermediate performance class - I don't want to go back in a week and be able to do 3.
