Wow, JPB, impressive. Still healthy, feeling good?
Hope you have good news today, mac!
I'm minorly sick -- stuffy, a bit achy, tired, etc. -- and am throwing everything at it in an attempt to make it a blip rather than something that cuts into my new, good exercise routine. I have about 24 hours to snap out of it, hope it works. (Fluids fluids fluids fresh fruits and veggies steam saline and rest.)

Yeah, feeling great. Pretty amazing, actually. We're noticing that the first thing we eat on the feast day is important -- fried calamari was not the best choice the other day. What's interesting is the increased energy on the fast days (my cardio days). Now I know why marathoners eat a big high-carb dinner the night before a race.
That's why we're going with a paella tonight. Good carbs plus protein will carry all through the day tomorrow.
Sorry about the minorly sick stuff ---
mac -- ditto on the good news wishes.

JPB--
You and Mr. Scale are getting a Thing going. He's keeping score.
Mac--
Fingers crossed for your weigh in tonight.
Soz--
You're looking forward to ditching your bug so you can do your thing. This is a healthy focus.

Soz, I hope you can conquer your bug. It sounds as though you have a good plan!
I lost the 0.8 of a pound that I gained last week. That brought me back to 115.6 pounds down.
I've been hovering within a couple of pounds of that mark for several months. I want to stop hovering and get moving down again. Current tactics include getting at least seven hours of sleep a night (8 is better) and less night-time snacking. I'm not eating junk, but I think I'm eating too much of the healthy stuff. Still working out 6 or 7 days a week, with weight training 2 or 3 times a week.

200!!!!!
Okay,
I haven't been participating in this thread up until now. I've had other issues.
But...today I broke the 200 lb. mark. 199-1/2! I know that by the end of the day I will have risen back to 201 or so, but this is the first time I've been under 200 since college.
I just had to tell someone.
Back in June, I started out at around 250-255. For me this is monumental!

I haven't been keeping up in here either, but congrats to all :-D
I gained a few pounds over the winter, but that's ok as long as I don't gain any more. It'll come off in the Spring when I'm running every freaking where.
Good luck with everyone :-D

Well done, jake!!!
mac, hovering through the winter is not necessarily a bad thing. I know it's frustrating but your body is adjusting to this weight and it can be a new base for you in the spring. Not gaining through the winter is an accomplishment in itself.

Good going, jake!
And mac, too!
You'll have to plateau at some point, right? You looked great when I saw you last summer, and I know you've lost more weight since then -- do you necessarily have to go that much further, or have you reached a good weight already?
OK, so I'm still minorly sick and trying to figure out what to do about it. Competing fears -- if I work out when I'm a little sick I'll just get sicker and really put a dent in my schedule, vs. wimping out and messing up my schedule for no good reason.
I'll give it a little more time, and chug more fluids, and see how I feel in a bit I think.

Guess what, guess what, guess what?
Mz ASM and I are gonna meet for lunch next week. We've been cyber diet buddies for over five years now and have been trying to get together IRL for 2 or 3 of them. Monday is the day!!! (and it's a feast day, too).

Mac--
I've been reading a lot lately about the relationship between sleep and weight loss. Plateaus are pure hell for the ego. I hope you can convince your metabolism that losing a few more pounds would be a Good Thing.
JPB--
Face to Face with a Cyber Friend on a feast day. You're earning all sorts of rewards.

Hi!
Soz--
You can always get yourself to the gym and either do a light workout or quit early.
Of course, if it were my exercise schedule, I'd probably opt for pampering. That's the problem with my exercise schedule.

Ooooooooof.
I went.
About halfway through I thought "halfway is enough...", but I kept going. Ended up doing my entire usual workout. Definitely not all there physically -- felt a tiny bit woozy a couple of times, and have twinges where I don't usually have twinges. Hope I won't regret this.
Off to guzzle some more water...

JPB & ASM, it's great that you'll be getting together! Does this mean that one or both of you hit a particular threshold? Seems like you talked about that last week.
Soz, I hope you've had a restful rest of the day and are feeling good.
jake123, that's fantastic! All of that since June? Wow!
Thanks everyone for the encouraging words re my plateau. Soz, it's lasted pretty much since I saw you last July. I've mostly been 173-174 since then, with an all time low of 172.0 on 12/5/07 and the highest since July at 175.8 on 12/19/07. Yesterday I weighed 173.8. Pretty consistent, huh?
My goal is 160. That's the top of the healthy range for my height. I'm more than ready to get there!

Threshold... Hmmm... JPB has been kicking ass with her regimen, I on the other hand have reached a threshold only if I tripped and my big ole butt hit it! I've not given up tho'. Maybe JPB's inspiration as we're chowing down on mexican food will get me more committed! I cannot believe that it has been that long! Seeya Monday (yay), A

I wanna join. So...is there any rules for this?
I have GOT to do something with myself. Since moving to Alabama I bet I've gained 25-30lbs, and scared to weigh because I know its not going to be pretty.
I don't want to weigh...
I'm 5'-8" and I'm a BIG girl to start with and "carried my weight well", not carrying it so hot now...and I sure didn't need to let myself gain any weight...but I did. We moved down here and I stopped moving. I know I'm going to have to start moving but in order for me to do that, I have to get motivated! Grrr....

I just saw your post on R&M, shiver, and was going to send you this link. You've already completed the rule book. Just join in or maybe figure out a plan that you want to try and post it as a reference.

Thank you...
I really don't feel comfortable with weight at this moment, and see buying a scale in my future.
So, if ya'll with bear with me when I get comfortable enough, I'll give a before pic and an afterward pic once I get some off....and come to terms with saying the weight outload...(or typed)
