J_B, I truly wasn't looking for numbers - only hoping that he was feeling well.

Joe, recognizing that there's a problem is the first step. Good luck with your 2008 efforts.

Well, here I go. I posted my goals for 2008 over at George's thread.

I am going to run from Central Park to Devereaux, Maine and back.
I am going to learn to go faster and longer.
Do my weights routines
and
Get back into my long ago, almost forgotten, Yoga.

Joe(203.3 That's down. That's good.)Nation

I don't know whether any of the other posters on this forum qualify as "Doddering", but this piece is very interesting.

Here I sit, collecting Social Security and contemplating another of my many little imperfections.

dinner out last night included two glasses of red wine. The scale reflects reality. It was worth it, today will undo the damage.

JPB--

The wine is water weight.

I've found the less I weigh, the less likely I am to retain the fluid from alcoholic beverages. Of course, with a lower weight, I have to drink less.

I know, mac, I was kidding. He's a bit touchy about me talking about him on the internet though so I'll keep it general.

We're both doing well. We've noticed that our feast days are anything but. The idea is eat whatever strikes our fancy but we're finding ours tastes getting simpler. Heavy sauces and rich foods don't have much appeal. We also fill up more quickly and eat less (stomach shrinking, probably). We've eaten out the last two feast days and I pushed my plate away half way through the meal at restaurants where I've easily eaten the entire portions in the past. I had them pack up the leftovers as soon as I was done so I wasn't sitting with a bunch of food in front of me that I would then absentmindedly pick away at and finish.

I'm also finding that my fruit fast days are turning into more of a full fast. What started out as 5 or 6 servings of the largest fruits I could find have become 2 or 3 servings and I'm not really hungry for more than that. I'm taking MVs and feel great. My energy is high and my workouts have been intense. It seems to be working fine.

Soz--

Good for you.

Are you in the way of the snowstorm arriving tonight?

I can recommend a trifecta of bacterial infections for weight loss.

Confused

Yikes, ehBeth, are you OK?

George, I've decided to start announcing every time I pee on A2K. Figured it would help me make sure to drink enough. Special announcements for poop!

(yes, to the gym!)

Noddy, it's raining in a cold and depressing way, but I didn't know about any snow until you mentioned it. Evidently it may turn to snow 'round midnight.

EhBeth--

I'm glad you're feeling better.

Soz--

Forcing fluids for a successful diet is being discredited these days.

status-quo through the weekend (which is a good thing).

Lots of food events this week -- all on odd days (by design).

I'll be perfectly happy with a status-quo week.

Mr scale said something he hasn't said since August 2006. End of week 2 - down 10.5 lbs (plus the 7 before starting the goofy plan for 17.5 since 12/3/07).

It won't last -- tapas and paella tonight -- but the general trend is down, down, down. I'm likin' it.
