I vote that ehBeth and George (of the whip) organize the Dragon Boat Rescue Team to motivate and inspire those A2K Virtual Dieters who are...a little lax...about following through on good intentions.

This morning I pulled out my trusty little notebook and recorded the calories in breakfast. Rain is pelting down, so walking is not possible.

If I fail to perform my full range of exercises, please whistle for the Dragon Boat Rescue Team.

I'm best in an "engine room" position.

Anyone good at drumming/calling out the beat? Steersperson?

Once I get the electrodes installed, yes.

I think I could manage sustained, inspirational drum-drum-drumming.

Dag--

I'll give you an application blank if you promise to cheer only at your convenience.

Friday's workout has been completed!

Whew.

I so didn't want to go any of these days, but it was a little easier each day, and I think I'm good from now on. Ask if I seem too quiet, though.

Thanks!

Today I completed my 4th straight week of lifting weights 5 days per week. My total body workout takes about an hour. Unfortunately I've been a little slack on the cardio, but somewhat because I heard when you're trying to build muscle, you really don't want to do much cardio.

It's odd too, but while I feel stronger, look stronger, and lift more weight (I've been tracking my reps and load each exercise and day), my body weight and body fat % have remained pretty flat (ideally my weight would go up and my fat % would go down). I'm going to give it 3 more weeks and if I don't see some changes by then I'm going to have to change the routine a little.

I'm signed up through early December now.

I'm officially an intermediate-level belly dance student now.

Quote:
Intermediate bellydance covers intense layered shimmies, complex combinations, rhythm identification, finger cymbal mastery, more challenging movements, fantastic steps, as well as delving into choreography and improvisation. Veil and finger cymbals are required for this class. Students take intermediate classes for an average of one year. You can do the intermediate class indefinitely as new material is always being introduced
indefinite sounds like a plan

Did some weights this morning.

A warm-up set at a low weight for about 15 repetitions.
Add on some weight and do about 8 reps.
Go heavy for 2 sets of 4 or 5 reps.
A cool-down set like the warm-up set.

I did this for bench press, low row, shoulder press, lat pulldown, dips and
upright row.

Map, how would you change your routine?

errr Soz ... anyone ...

I had dance class last night ... thought I was having a hot flash ... my glasses were steaming up ... then I noticed the young woman dancing in front of me ... she wasn't glowing, her hair was dripping sweat onto her back

I think Zahira really kicked our butts ... and they look better for it Laughing

Go beth!

I overdid it today. Gym AND 4 miles of walking. The latter wasn't really planned, and I wasn't dressed for it -- had sensible shoes on (Merrells, comfy), but the socks were too thin or something and my feet were kind of sliding around. Anyway, I walked someplace, and that was fun, then kept walking, and then the sock thing started happening, but I was 2 miles out at that point.

The bottoms of my feet aren't happy and my knees were a bit twingy for a while there too.

But I seem back in my gym routine (went Monday, too) so that's good. (Thanks again!)

EhBeth, Soz--

May you ladies inspire me tomorrow. I'm hoping to accomplish a brisk walk and a full set of exercises.

Where's the Dragon Boat?

Yes, good job bethie and soz!

I had a tough week - hurt my back on Friday (spent a couple of hours examining files in the file room that were on the bottom shelf). Was in too much pain over the weekend to work out. I think it was the first time in over a year that I went four days without going to the gym! So I'm starting back slowly. The back seems to be okay, but everything else is complaining. I think the lack of good sleep for a couple of nites was the main problem.

In spite of all that, I had a teeny loss yesterday. Just shows to go you.
