Yes, putting it in writing helped.
So, you're hereby requested to whap me upside the head if I don't report that I've gone to the gym by 7:00 PM Wednesday!
Thank you.
(I won't keep doing this, don't worry... just need to get the routine re-established...)
Good! ...now for Wednesday.
Establishing a routine is an incredible help.
(Why are bad habits so easy and good habits so hard?)
I dunno, but it's damned annoying..!
JPB, speaking of damned annoying... sounds like you're doing a great job of sticking with it though even through the two steps forward three steps back annoyingness.
It'd make sense that we'd be primed to pack pounds this time of year -- feasting time, getting reserves for the winter, etc. Maybe it'll ease up in a bit.
I'm back from my gadding--with some sort of energy-sapping bug. When I weighed this morning I was 116.
With a bit of gumption, I'll summon the mojo for a little Official Exercising betwixt and between the bustling required to dig out a temporary Bachelor Pad.
Fire drill today - down and up 14 or 15 flights of stairs.
I'm surprised that I don't have shaky legs. Something must be working.
EhBeth--
Next drill will be carrying a co-worker down the steps. Meanwhile, glory in your fitness.
Don't remind me, Noddy.
I'm one of the only people on this floor that knows how to use the stair stretchers

I try not to mention it when the floor wardens switch over, but there seems to be a bit of institutional memory that defeats me.
What is a stair stretcher?
Wednesday.
Now what was it I was supposed to do on Wednesday?
Something about "upside the head"...
I'm going in a bit! All scheduled and everything! Washed my workout clothes so I had no excuses!
I did say "by 7..." (It'll be about 6:45 that I'm done, then I have to pick up sozlet, may not be able to get here to say so until 7:15 or so, but I'll be done by 7 by golly by gum.)
Is a stair stretcher a stretcher you use on the stairs?

this is a lovely specialized stretcher to be used when transporting folks down the stairs who use wheelchairs/walkers etc
EhBeth--
I've ridden in one of those!
Thank you.
Not only can I get you UP the Guggenheim spiral, in an emergency I can help hustle you back down the stairs!
We may have the makings of a rescue triathlon here...

...and for her next project, ehBeth will organize rappelling down elevator shafts, starting with four story buildings and moving on to skyscrapers with and without unconscious bystanders.
Stay your hand, o slappers!
Mission accomplished.
If we could do this one more time -- Friday, say by 8 this time -- I think I'll be set.
Thanks!
This so helps.
sooo, George, what do you think about a dragon boat rescue team?

Excellent! I've had some outrigger experience so I'm ready to go.
