Those cartoons soothe me. Someone more neurotic than I. Smile

I have a question.

How do yall track your exercise and diet exactly? Spreadsheet? Journal? Some program that is already set out for you that you just check off what you are doing and not doing?

I'd like to start a more accurate way of keeping track. thanks.

I've been using

http://fitday.com/WebFit/Index.html

for some time. Sometimes more intensively, sometimes less so. It helped me a lot when I was working on getting into a routine - and when I was trying to figure out serving sizes/calorie/carb counts.

mushy, I've been doing Weight Watchers for over two years. I used their online tracker for a while, but didn't like it enough to pay for it. I'm back to tracking on their paper trackers now.

I've complained on this site and elsewhere about the dangers of walking for recreation on winding country roads frequented by drivers-in-hurries.

The township has opened a mile-long walking track surfaced in gravel. I checked it out this morning and managed a brisk half mile walk in about sixteen minutes.

Granted, winter with snow, sleet and freezing rain is coming, but for the next few months I should have no excuse for avoiding weight-bearing exercise.

Kid's sick and home from school. So there goes the M of MWF, unless E.G. can come home early enough -- that could work. Depends on how she's doing at that point I guess.

The walking trail sounds good, Noddy.

Managed a full weekend of travel and festivities without weight gain. Woot! Mr B's birthday is later this week, but that's the only derailing event on the calendar. Should be a good week.

Thought I should chime in.......

I'm up a few pounds from when I last checked in (at 180.6 now). I have started my weight training program this week (today actually). I completed a 50.1 mile bike ride last Saturday which felt great (well, not great on my butt, but great for the heart).

I was going to start my weight training program last week, but I chose to quit drinking caffeine instead which caused some MASSIVE withdrawl symptoms; I can't remember feeling that bad or tired in my life. Thankfully, I'm over it now. What a difference, let me tell you.

So, my 12 week weight program started today. I'll take measurements of everything and get back to you guys in a week or so.

Keep up the good work everyone, the hardest time of year is approaching, go into the winter running.

Dance class starts again tomorrow night. I'm really looking forward to it. I've done some practicing on my own, and some extra walking, but I need/want someone to pushpushpush. I already told one of the instructors, via Facebook, which moves I want her to drag me into.

ehBeth,

Thanks. That site is fun. I might give that a go, to be honest, not sure if I am "that serious yet". But it's a good bookmark.

Mac,

Thanks. Think I might go that route for now. Have used WW in the past. At the time, not for losing weight, but just to clean up my act.
I like how simple the make it.

Noddy,

No dog this time? Smile One excuse down, how many to go.
Country walks are a favorite of mine. I think you'd be a very inspiring woman to walk with, that is a sweet fantasy of mine to do that. I can dream, right?

Soz,

Bummer. Maybe you can fit in an exercise tape or something? Back up plan.

JPB, that's an achievment alright!

Maproche,

Wow. And feel for you on the caffeine withdrawls. That's a good one to get out of the way.

I sluffed off into an exercise video yesterday. Felt rather antisocial, so at least this got my blood and muscles going. YogaBootyBallet. Ha!
Was pleasantly surprised that I kept up on the first try, and it was a little under my level.
More. More.

Wow, I'm a coffee nut myself and occasional abstain for a while.
The effects have been unpleasant but easily bearable.
Good for you for staying with it.

Soz--

Perhaps this week is Tu/Th/Sat? I like the idea of having an emergency back-up exercise tape handy.

School has really started. Is the Sozelet's immune system doing the usual purge?

JPB--

You're really making progress on switching the focus of celebrations to non-caloric festivity.

EhBeth--

Love Cathy.

I'm bemused to comtemplate the opening of Belly Dance Season.

MPC--

Alas, my current dog is elderly and inactive. In any case, she's a home loving girl and hates walks. I did get to watch two very active dogs--and I didn't have to have a pooper scooper, either.

Marporsche--

How much coffee were you drinking?

It wasn't coffee, but diet soda.

You guys are going to freak out, but I was probably drinking, on average, 5 20oz sodas at work, a 1 liter at home, and whatever I would get while out (movies, etc).

It was drinking A LOT of soda.

Good for you on kicking the caffeine, maporsche. It's like having really bad flu, as I recall.

I save caffeine for moments of urgent need now.

Dance classes re-started with oomph last night.

I thought I'd be paining paining paining today, but I'm surprisingly mobile.

Tomorrow night, another 1.5 hour class.

Beware the "second-day syndrome".

Isn't it great to restart an activity/exercise you like?
Jingle on!

Yup, I really missed getting my butt kicked regularly Very Happy

I tend to go right to pain - without having to wait for the second day - but I'm always ready to be surprised.
